I'm back, and survived the plane flight!!
by ScoobySnax injust got back from corfu today, naturally looking like a bronzed adonis.. even the plane flight wasn't as bad as i thought, even though it was a bit bumpy on the ride home.
hired a car and saw some of the island, beautiful scenery, sandy beaches, secluded coves, olive groves and historical monuments.
the greeks are such fantastically warm and friendly.

A question for those familiar with Bethel Policy and Child Molestation??
by badolputtytat ini cannot go into great detail just yet, because a lot of what i have going with my family hinges on what will happen on the weekend of october 10th.
a short background of this topic before the question: at a very young age.
very young i was sexually abused, by more than one member of our congregation.

What they have failed to do is to take any responsbility upon themselves for the problem.
Exactly!
In the most recent conversation with my father on this issue, I refered to the questions found at escape the watchtower site. http://www.escapethewatchtower.com/Questions_for_Jw.htm
I immediately recieved an "I'll get back to you on that" when I approached the questions concerning PRESENT policy on child-abusers. A phone call is scheduled for tonight between my father and I. In which he will address the answers to these questions with me. We have an agreement that no scriptures will be read. (I am not challenging the scriptural belief, only questioning why my "abuse" was hidden from the public, and then turned against me. )
A NOTE TO JOURLES!!!!: In discussing the letters that are posted on your site, (which are now hosted by escapethewatchtower.com.) My father was very adamant that these letters were FALSE, (however he "admits" he has never seen the web-site?? ) I then explained to him that I had
stolenaquired letters of my own from the Kingdom Hall Files, and they matched perfectly. I asked him "If the letters were false, then why didn't the Society sue for SLANDER? instead of making a COPYWRITE issue? He has no answer. But I am playing dumb at the moment, and he believes my questions are sincerely without any link to "apostate" thinking.
Tonight's Question: With the whole family admitting that I was "abused" and "had it rough", If I do not comply with the Watctower Society, then will I be included in the inheritance?
I will post whatever information I am given.
--puttytat
P.S. If you have not read these questions: http://www.escapethewatchtower.com/Questions_for_Jw.htm
I would advise you to do so, if you have any family members trapped in this thing. They are very straight forward questions, that leave NO room for the scriptural "hop-scotch" that JW's are famous for. Hamas and Jourles Thank you !!!

Are those out of the org. in better mental health than those in?
by JH in.
i was wondering if those in the jw organization would be in better or worse mental health than those who quit the organization?

Been "out" for twenty years... and look at me... I am.......... JUST fine.
Of course.... I talk to myself sometimes.....well........ LOTS of times. But that's ok.... WE have some good conversations now and then.
.... and I pace. I pace for five hours every day at the office, and then I come home and pace from one room to the other. My wife has grown used to the fact that sometimes, I will (unintentionally) just walk out of the room, in the middle of a conversation. She doesn't worry though... she knows I will pace back through in a few minutes.
Yep.... that's me.... Just fine. (both of us) And I seriously think that if I had stayed "IN" longer than I did, I would be a real NUT job.
Don't listen to him folks... he is LOONEY as a TOON.
I am not! You SHUT UP!
NO YOU SHUT UP!

venting alert.....did you ever have one of those days....
by tinkerbell82 in......when you wake up sad and annoyed, and it just goes downhill fast from there?
when all of your clothes make you feel fat, and you want breakfast but you've rummaged through the fridge and all of the cupboards and nothing sounds good, and your cheerful s/o is just making you feel worse with their attempts to make you feel better, and you can't find your favorite book anywhere, and the littlest things get on your nerves for no reason, which just makes you even more irritable because you know you're being childish but can't help it, and everything just plain sucks?
any suggestions for the terminally cranky?.

Excellent Idea, Elsewhere.... I have thought about that all day (haven't had time to post). I think recording even the conversations with my family would prove beneficial.... but I have no personal interest in any "court situation", unless it comes down to control of the estate. I think, it would not help my own son to have to experience all that, through me in court.
I assume you'll do the usual fade. --Alan F.
The day she dies, this little game ends. I attend meetings here, simply as a matter of "being seen", and collecting information and literature. (but I am several states away). When I travel in October, I will of course have to attend there.
Are you sure you want to go ahead and play the JW game? You know best, and you're a *edit* guy, I would just hate to see you get hurt from where this is probably going to lead.--- Big Tex
I don't think (emotionally) they CAN hurt me. I carry no doubt with me. I have gained so much by choosing to leave them in the first place. I have a wonderful Wife and son, who have never experienced the borg. They cannot humiliate me.... I have had enough practice at "being in another place", while they drill me. I think I lost those type of emotions a very long time ago. . . but hey! I learned it from them!*Puttytat formally thanks The Watchtower for his strength and immunity to emotional abuse*.
but I can't blame them for not wanting homosexuals or potential homosexuals at Bethel.--noumenon
Interesting.... interesting, because they would "want" child abusers or potential child abusers. However, this has nothing to do with homosexuality. Neither myself, nor this other person chose a homosexual lifestyle, as a way of life. I would have to say that homosexuality, and sadist child molesting perverts are two totally different and un-related types of people....
.... The difference? .... I would leave a "homosexual" to care for my son in my absence, if the situation arose.... but I wouldn't leave an Elder in in charge.
Thanx again for the input, it's taken me about seven months to get this far with this thing... The point of "do or die" is comming soon I think.....

This simply illustrates why JWs have no business giving moral advice, or advice about any aspect of life, to anyone.---Alan F
Funny you should say that. My father is sending me a book (from the society, I know not which one) that will help me to "cope" with my guilt about preventing this person's entry to Bethel... and..(get this)help me "put the past behind" me.
He gave me that "well things from the past, are better left there" speech. Yet, I need to go before the elders and "show my reppentance". He read me the scripture about "keeping account of the sins of your brother", and how baaaad that is... double standard, I say.
Funny aint he?
D@mn, if I could put Alan F. and Big Tex in a little box and take 'em with me, maybe I would have the strength and articulation to beat these people with.
gotta run,
Thanks again,
puttytat
