  my husband and i lived in dallas, tex in '72, of course we were not married at the time of our being contacted by a work friend of his, though they still befriended us and our families became close.

  soon, we were married and quickly thereafter, we were invited to the kingdom hall.

  something about catching my bigger brother puffing on a cigarette lol.

  i had to practice the part for months in a dogey american accents.

  after a few months of lurking i decided to register.. was raised a dub all my life .

  .got married at 19 (biggg mistake) because as you know "dating is only for marriage" (obviously not for trying to get to know someone better) and was married 11 months after i met my ex-husband.

  i felt a lot of pressure from both families to get married.

  one thing i know without doubt is that even if the truth was wrong, it is the best way to live simply because it doesn't want to involved in the depraved things going on in this world, like I've said they'll be some bad apples but they are a minority.

  you speak of the good upbringing that you had as a jw, i had the same exact upbringing. i have done nothing to warrant disfellowshipping(as if there ever could be a reason for dfing).

  both myself and my wife FOUND JESUS, became christians and attend church. thats it, no partying, drinking, drugs. by going to church i have found a falsehood in your sayings. the jws do not have a monopoly in raising up children by bible standards. they are not the only religion that does this and they are definately no where near the best at it.

  the problem with them(one of many) is the fact that they are like the pharsees of old, they put more weight on man made rules and regs than on the spirit of the word. i can totally forgive an occasional idiot in any religion for acting crazy or whatever. problem lies with the gb since they put out such false things. my family are loyal dubs to the end. they just found out that im officially APOSTATE, and i told them straight up, how can i be apostate when you never had the truth.

  im closer to jehovah AND JESUS than i ever was before. happy to go to church and hate it when i have to miss. can you say the same thing? i know when i was a dub i was depressed and hated going.

  the church i go to has a jw outreach minestry helping christians deal with dubs and giving them points to make a dub think. this minestry also helps jws to leave the org by showing them what the bible truely says. now the same night its held, the church also holds a singles minestry, where singles of all races, all ages come for fellowship with other singles. they have live christian music, and food. so as i go to my minestry of choice i see these single people, a lot of them are young, meeting together in a manner that shows what kind of morals they have been raised with.

  thats just one point against the dubs there are thousands more. if you can come here and read about the un, about rand and the other things that the gb is involved with and remain a witless then thats on you. dont worry many of us will pray for you anyways because god loves us all, and wants all of us to love him back

  jehovah's witnesses will be experiencing a special treat during their co (circuit overseer) visit this season: a bona-fide pledge drive.. during the thursday night meeting the normal co talk will instead be a video entitled:.

  building kingdom halls advances true worship.

  this 30-minute advances video is well produced and explains the watchtower society's program to build simplified kingdom halls in third-world and poor countries were materials and funds are scarce.. interviews and footage focus on south america, africa and eastern europe.

  whether they ask for money outright....... or they thank ya for money already received, the end result is the same. you feel like crap for not giving more, cause lets face it, every hall in the states is a thousand times better than freaking grass huts.

  they want you to think.............. um...... did i give anything? of course you cant remember giving much so now you give more and maybe even a big chunk.

  the halls where i grew up were told that they shouldnt remodel the hall, instead they should sell it and build a new one because the labor is free. the brothers would come and build it, just had to feed them.

  of course the NEW LOAN would be much higher because you simply must improve over the former hall. the hall i was going to...... guess they still have my card lol, made it to pay off. hall was in bad shape because it took dang near everything to pay the mortgage, so time for a remodel. the regional quick build comm said should sell. they were like ........ um...... no we like our unusual hall, we just want new carpet, fresh paint, new roof, and a paved parking lot. ohhhhhhhh so you dont listen to theocratic directions huh brothers.

  well NOW i have GOOD NEWS because that hall is merging with the hall it split from because awwwwwwwww attendance is down. (insert fake as hell sad face here) heheheheh

  after all is said an done tho what i find amuseing is the fact that the society takes great pains to point out how other religions pass the plate around repeatedly yet they only have boxes at the back of the church for VOLUNTARY contributions. ive been in tons of churches that do the very same thing.

  i dont even have a problem with their video showing the work...... i just wish that they could provide proof that the money was actually used to build it and they didnt loan it to the poor bestards who have no money to live much less build a church. i know that when my church puts up a video about helping a certain cause or expanding their facilities there is no doubt where the $ is going and that it is given freely to them without expectation of repayment. wish same could be said of the wts

  i was involved in several, starting when i was about 10 or 11 with jobs like sweeping up sawdust or picking up loose nails.

  i loved it.

  once, when i was about 22 we were building the kh south of santa barbara in carpinteria.
