it depends on what you want to accomplish. If you just want them to stay off of your backside then sure fake em and forget em and my personal fave F*** em. If you are still attending meetings then why not fake the time sure, but if you want them to leave you alone completely.... it will never happen as long as your padding their reports. If you keep fakeing the national average then what the hell do they care..... and we all for damn sure know that wont go UP.

The Single Most Dangerous JW Meeting....in my opinion!
by enlightenedcynic inthe way i see it, pretty much everyone here knows that the 5 weekly meetings, the memorial, the dc's and ca's are all a bunch of rubbish and jibber jabber.
there is still one other meeting, not as frequently held as the others, that jw's use very effectively to control existing members and bring in new converts and this meeting sadly plays apon the emotions of all in attendance.. what meeting is this?.

I have been to several funerals, mostly as you have guessed were at the funeral homes rather than a church, for reasons I dont have to explain here. I always felt sickened when a pastor would ramble on about himself or his church for 45 minutes and only talk about the deceased for 5 minutes. I always thought it was the pastors ego or simply the fact that he sucked as a pastor and really didnt know the deceased at all.
But when you go to a witness funeral....... I mean damn it all. A few minutes of speaking on the departeds behalf and then the rest of the hour totally on propaganda. JOIN US OR DIE.
My grandfather HATED at times and Disliked pretty much consistantly the witnesses, Yet who did his funeral talk! This man never went into a KH and couldnt be dragged there..... ok he came to my sisters wedding but felt to sick to go to the hall. That is the only occasion that he MIGHT have entered the doors of a hall. Yet when my dad who was and IS PO was trying to arrainge stuff, he made an effort to get the pastor they used growing up but when he didnt get confirmation of the pastors being their, first thing he did was call a local BROTHER to do the talk.
SO he used the KJV, he still made it a witness talk in the end. I had to go to a dub funeral recently and I at first refused, But my wife talked me into going for her aunts sake. I still didnt want to go and really dont want to go again EVER. The only way I was able to walk inside was something that a NON JW friend once said...... go inside and pray to god. Declare that you have spiritual authority over the place and ask god to give that to you as a child of god. Thats what I did, and everything worked out fine. Still had to put up with the BS but we got thru it.

mom said be home by 5, but there was a huge accident a mile from where i live, and i sat on the road for like 10 - 12 minutes, and was 5 minutes late getting home.
mom was there (didn't go to work- guess why) and she was pissed.

I have lost friends over my self righteous jw responses to things and so i cant condemn anyone for still having the after effects of that crazy ass cult.
all i can say is do what you have to do richie, we cant tell you what to do regarding your mother, if you do need any assistance you have plenty of us to fall back on.
i do agree with hellrider tho in the fact that witness parents need to be brought low before they can see the cult for what it is. i do have my opinions regarding any person takeing my stuff(after they pry my cold dead fingers off of it) but then again im a grown ass man. i wouldnt let her have a dime, and i would talk to dad about paying rent untill i found my own place($250 is a damn good start at rent and especially as its paid already) that way she in theory couldnt go off on him since he is paying rent for his room or whatever. but then again that would work only if someone was reasonable and well............ given her programmed nutzo responses i dont think she can be called reasonable. all i can say is your in our prayers richie

yes i could, especially if they were a person who deliberately hurt a child or molested one. if you are in a situation where self defense is involved then you dont know if your capable untill its upon you. i do however think that people are to soft on some people.
while i dont condone the stupid crap the military did at the prisons, i dont have a problem with them going hard ball on someone they KNOW is somehow involved. hit them with psycological crap first and see if you can make them crack.
can i kill someone..... yes. do i want to.... hell no, and i pray that i never will have to.

so whoop whoop for gambling.. i was in miami florida last week for the photoshop world conference, but i also got to tour the everglades, where i took some beautiful pictures.

Make all the scans you want but you should return the book immediately to avoid legal/criminal problems . What you stole is private property. The Society has people reading this board, they have expensive legal counsel, you have ID'd yourself as the one who stole property, your picture, your email. You may not give a darn about being DF'd and kicked out of your house. Fine. But you don't need some sheriff of your local county showing up and you being implicated in expensive, legal matters. Return the book ASAP.
um not 18 yet so still minor, wouldnt that get him outta most of their crap. specially if the book is sent off and not sold? i still think is funny as hell.

My story
by beachbugg init's really good to read stories of other people that have experienced some of the same things i have.
i haven't ever posted or even talked to another ex-jw except for my uncle who i have just recently started a relationship with.
the sad thing is that i am 30 years old and i am still struggling with the past....i'm soo sick of it.

first off..... welcome to jwd. secondly many here can relate to your story, seems it keeps happening over and over to those of us in one fashion or another. good thing about it is were all out of that disgusting org, even tho the after shocks still affect us for years and years.
as for the religion question, i now go to a non denominational church and love it completely. i always hated going to meetings, and fieldservice. felt i was pushing something that no one else wanted and otherwise ruining their weekends. i went to the meetings to see my friends and because they would be up my ass if i didnt.
now on the other hand i absolutely love my church and wouldnt miss a service unless i truely had to. but the first time i walked in those doors.... OMG and the fact that it was soooo huge. my wife told me how wonderful this church was so i agreed to attend at least once. of course i was scared to death to even walk inside the doors, and the first service was ending so literally thousands of people were walking out of the sanctuary doors.
right then and there i wanted to haul ass back to the car and get the hell outta there, but i had promised i would go ONCE then never again as i could claim i tried it.
THEY SING CHRISTIAN SONGS OF WORSHIP THERE....... i was soooooooo freaked out, but then the pastor started preaching and my world changed.
he wasnt the charismatic, money hungry, oral roberts wannabe that as witlessness i was taught he would be. instead he was a former drug addict, strip club operator, music exec who found jesus and literally turned his life around. his message was right for me and through that church i was able to move on and learn more about what the bible actually says.
still took alot of time, and one day walking out to the car we saw a display in the hallway manned by one single brother for GASP.......... a JW outreach.
grabbed my wifes arm and kept her a marching right out the door. next week tho after much thought we stopped to talk to him and signed up. helped alot of christians to know what to say to witnesses. we have unfortunately moved away from the church but are going to a branch of it here in ATL and planning on starting up the same minestry here.
yes there is life after the org and its damned fine if i do say so myself
