My son and I were just playing this one today, say Toy Boat, 5 times fast. I can't even get past 3, he gets up to 6, the little rascal.

OK smarty pants, post something simple that most people don't know.
by JH inok, lets see if you guys know the answer to this simple question.. .
if you have a car with a mechanical speedometer and odometer, not digital, and if you back up, will your mileage on the dial back up?.
7 miles on the odometer and you back up, for a few hundred feet, will the mileage also back up slowly to 47,108.6 and so on....?.

Finally, I didn't worry my child might need a blood transfusion!
by Gill inone of my children went on a school trip this week and for the first time ever, i didn't panic and worry about what 'might' happen!.
i had always, as a good little jw, and even as a faded jw filled in the medical form that needed filling with every trip, the way i had been instructed by the elders.
when you get to the part that gives permission for emergency treatment, surgery, or (heaven forbid) blood transfusions, you cross out the 'blood transfusion' sign at both ends of the line, then explain what alternative treatments you would accept for your child.. this time, i just signed the form as every other parent had and knew, that should an accident happen, my child would probably stand as good a chance as surviving it as any other child on that trip!.

I know what you mean Gill. I never had kids as a dub. But still, now as I go to sign my kid up for baseball or whatever, when I get to the medical release part, I think about how if I was still a JW, I would have to do the whole no-blood thing. Feels good dont it? Just to sign the form, YES of course, administer any and all treatment available, DUH!!!, and not to have to worry about the blood stuff. Good for you Gill.

No wonder I learned to just send my brain on vacation
Luna 2, Lol! that's what I used to do! Problem is, I dont think it ever came back. I used to have a system down. I would let myself day-dream, God the things I thought of during the meetings. I taught myself to listen for the "let's look this up in our bibles" or for the sound of bible pages rustling, then I would turn my bible pages. So, now one would catch on, see?
I know there were tons of dumb-ass things said, like Ritchies post talks about, I just like you, taught my brain how to go on vacation.

Native American Artifacts
by IP_SEC inmy great grand father was one half cherokee, he taught me about making flint tools and a lot about the land.. his son, my grand father taught me how to find flint tools lol.. the area i'm from is literally littered, with these tools laying right on the ground.
some may have been lost in the hunt, others discarded as a broken implement.

Cool artifacts IP_SEC. My grandfather was Yaqui (had green eyes, so not sure what % yaqui). We called him the medicine man. He had natural cures for everythig. He cured his own diabetes, and passed the remedy on to my father, who used it, he now has diabetes under control.

And yea, the new Felicia character, now working for me.
I meant to say NOT working for me.
JH I used to watch it back in the 80's too. Remember when Luke and Laura were the hottest thing. Their wedding and all? I guess I got hooked on JH as a small kid. I was very smart in school and got bored with it all. Every so often I would just stay home and watch Gh with my mom, guess that hooked me for life.
