Inheritance and Ex JW children
by greendawn inwe all know how disfellowshipped or disassociated children get treated by their jw parents, that they are totally shunned.
but what happens when it comes to family inheritance do they get treated fairly or do they get a lesser share or in extreme cases perhaps nothing at all?
and would jw parents that have no children left in the wts choose to give everything to the org?

We all know how disfellowshipped or disassociated children get treated by their JW parents
Add faded to that list.
My parents always say how I am the most sensible, level headed grounded, responsible helpful and generous of their children. At one point, I found out that the two people they chose to be executors of their will, were my two brothers, for one reason they were witnesses.
These two have been so immature and irresponsible in their lifes, financially, and in other ways too. They have had houses foreclosed on, been sued right and left, filed for bankruptcy, cheated people out of money. I used to bail them out when I was younger and dumber. My parents went through so much grief over their irresposibility with money.
YET, these are the ones they chose to be in charge of their estate, when they pass away. Go figure that one out.

They are looking to keep track of people, but not just for the quick builds, for everything in general. So you cant fade successfully, stuff like that. When you mentioned the part about how if a person moves, they are keeping tabs on them, I think it has to do with the fact that so many are fading, and becoming apostate. They are trying to prevent this. They are just keeping tabs on everybody to keep control of people.

All the years I went out on field service, nobody every asked me a question. I probably could not have explained alot of stuff, but nobody ever asked. I only placed a set of magazines a few times in my life too.

Need Advice
by love2Bworldly ini need some feedback on a delicate matter.
my non-jw father is going to be 87 years old in a few months.
in the event of him passing away, i'm worried my jw sister will take over the funeral arrangements with a jw talk and all that.
-
Netty
Yes, I think you should, get in writing, all done legally. At his age, 87, you may find out he already has something in writing, most people do. I think it would be a real shame if your jw sister would to have a jw funeral when your father passes. Of course, we all have our obvious feelings, and reasons why we dont like the idea.. But all that aside, he was not a jw. It's just that simple.

Chemo begins today
by outnfree inso, i've been sitting at the computer all night long, not really panicked, but definitely disturbed at the thought of what the months to come will entail.. the port-a-cath was "installed" (surgically) on monday, and that was tough.
somehow the lumpectomy last month and even finding out that there was lymph node involvement was okay.
scary, but okay.

(((outnfree))). I am so sorry you are facing something so scary and difficult right now. My mother is a (breast) cancer survivor, and I do remember how difficult things were for. My thoughts are with you.

I'm giving plasma tomorrow!!
by Frog inwell actually i'm giving the whole bit, plasma, platelets, while/red cells...for the first time and i'm very excited!
sounds very massochistic, but it's not for the love of pain, it's just that it's taken me so long to become mentally ofe' with it.
i've had a mental block about it for so long, but have gradually enabled myslef to overcome it by educating myself more fully on the subject.
