i guess my new-found freedom of personal expression is working its way down to my kids.. i came home from a crazy day at work, ate my dinner, was loading the dishwasher, when my 13-year-old son says, .

"mom, i have something to tell you - i'm bisexual...i've been that way for a year now.

i still can't help but have my old jw brain at work, thinking this is not okay - kind of like, i'm an apostate with a bisexual son...what will my family say?!

This is a guess, I dont know, my kids are still little, but maybe at this age, he still doesnt really know exactly what he is yet. He could just be at a stage of discovery. Does he know what the word bi-sexual really means?

the 1975 debacle left the fds scrambling for explanations for the mass exodus of r&f who were disillusioned by their bs.

the pat answer has always been, "those people didn't keep pace with god's chariot" and they weren't "strong in the truth" and allowed something so "minor" to "stumble" them.

Dont have the answer to your question. But an interesting note about this. I recently had a discussion with my elder father about the generation change. After he changed the subject about seven times, I finally zeroed in, and MADE him answer me. He said, that since I had been away for so long, it was all me, the society never said any such thing, and that I was just remembering it all wrong, and getting myself congused. (Guess, I'm just a dummy like that, me and how many other thousands of people) So, they are probably going to try and blame it on the rank and file, either not understanding correctly, or taking things too literally, whatever excuse they can. But bottome line, it aint their fault. I gave up on him, I knew there would be no getting through.

Character boxer shorts are fun! Dont ask me why, I Love them. I actually have to make myself not buy my husband these for every holiday, I love them so much, he even has halloween ones.

she had not fully understood about the feelings (hammered into my mind for decades), and control the WT had on me (and still does to some extent).

You know what, this is exactly the same reaction my hubby has when he hears alot of the ridiculous b.s. I had hammered into my skull, it is just unbelievable to them.

And yea, I was one of those lonely jw people you are talking about. That is one of, the big reasons I aint a jw no more. Course there are plenty of other great reasons, but that sure was a big one.

I had an odd day today......

i finished my spring semester of schooling!

yay!

i got a call from my sister saying that she was arrested and in jail for 3 days for domestic violence.

God that hurts! My parents would say stuff like "I'm gonna have to cut them off" CUT THEM OFF?? WTF!?!?!? Or "I'm not going to bond with XXXX (Grandson) because he is going to die at Armegeddon" When you tell non-witnesses this type of stuff, they are shocked, its so unbelievable.

But anyway, I know what you are going through, and hope you get to spend some quality time wtih your mother. Maybe nobody will bring up JW stuff, ya think? And you can just enjoy some mother/daughter/family time. Heres hoping.
