  hi this is my first post and i would like to tell my story.

  i have followed the some of the discussions on this baord for a while.. let me introduce myself.

  i am inday, that is just my nick name, the name people call me normally.

  Thanks for sharing your story inday. I am so sorry for all you have gone through.

  Call me suspicious but your sentence structure and spelling of words like financially and doubt but using capitols in the middle of sentences gives me a funny feeling that this is a hoax

  That surprised me.

  I grew up with a very close friend of Asian descent, I am currently friends with someone of Asian descent, and twice a month, I get my nails done, by a lady of Asian descent. I have to pay extra close attention, and sometimes ask alot of questions, before I can understand what she is saying, (although she has studied english as a second language for years).

  All of the 3 people mentioned above, speak with similar sentence structures as Indays. So nothing seemed off about this to me. It was actually familiar to me, only difference was I was reading it, instead of hearing it.

  When I was a kid, I didn't want to be a JW.

  i'm thinking back to my childhood here, and remembering hanging out with my jw friends.

  my buddies and i, when we were 9, 10 years old knew that we wouldn't stay jws.

  we hated the restrictions that were put on us and hated being different.

  I sure never wanted to be either. But it got alot harder on me, at a little later of an age. About 13ish. And lots of the people who were teenagers at the same time I was, are also now out.

  My last District Convention (I hope) ... observations

  so last weekend was my last district convention.

  i plan on breaking the news to my wife real soon.

  nowadays even at the meetings my blood pressure raises and my back gets all tense as i sit and listen to some of the stuff we are supposed to believe.

  This was highlighted with the drama that everyone marveled over... how Timothy had "no regrets" of choosing the full-time ministry over college and a lucrative business career with his friend and how he was blessed.

  And they know this HOW? Because they asked Timothy?

  this week i had the priviledge of getting together with some ex-jw's on 2 different occasions.

  during the week a friend that i know from email and an ex-jw support email group came to my area for a work conference.

  it was so great to finally meet her and talk.

  None of their kids are rapists, murderers, drunk drivers. They both have jobs and are super nice

  LOL! The witlesses always talk about what an awful ax murderer everyone becomes when they leave the truth.

  We've been together over 7 + years and I just feel like this stupid religion is always going to be between us.

  Hang in there ok, this may not be true. My hubby, in years past, would always say the same thing to me. Now he knows better. Give your hubby more time, and keep doing what you're doing. Subtly point things out to him. He's thinking.

  New System Sewage

  i was thinking this weekend.. how will sewage treatment be handled in the new system?

  i assume mature brothers will be assigned the privilege of working at sewer treatment plants for shifts of 1000 years or so.

  Many Stay As JWs Because Of Social & Family Contacts

  would you agree that most people stay on as witnesses--not because they are "true believers" but because they have no place else to go or they will risk losing their family and friends?

  That's why I tried to make a comeback or two. And yes, that's why I stayed longer than I wanted to.

  Funeral arrangements - What would you do?

  i just found out last night that my aunt died.

  my mom and dad are arranging the funeral arrangments, and because my dad is not a dub the fumeral will be held in a church.

  most likely my mom will not attend the service.

  Although I feel firmly in my beliefs it really bothers me that in her mind, it is okay to ignore my final requests, but it is not okay to ignore hers.

  I agree with you, for some reason witnesses think they have a right to do this to you.

  I like the idea Blondie has, and actually have seen it done here once or twice.

  In the end, your mother really wont know WHAT you do, or dont do for her when she passes away, right? So maybe the whole conversation with her about this is just causing unnecessary tension.

  after years of waiting, i finally turned 18. i remember distinctly that my mother said during an argument that i would not have to attend meetings once i turned 18. well that was a lie.

  she denied ever having said such, and pulled the "under my roof" card.

  so now she is saying i have to continue attending meetings until i move out.

  I knew I had to leave my parents house, in order to not be a witless anymore. I started planning in high school. I took the Cooperate Office Education class, where they place you in a full time, decent job. I was just 17 years old, working a 37 hour a week job, with full benefits and all. I was able to move out at 19 years of age. I think like I did, you will have to move out to get out of having to be a witness.

  BUT, do it like I did. Prepare yourself, dont do anything rash. Get yourself a little bit established, with a decent job before you just take the plunge. If you start out on the wrong foot, being on your own, it will be harder to try and get yourself on track later.

  Yes, you might have to suck it up, and endure going to meetings for a while, until you are stable enough to make the move. But the others have given you some good suggestions on how to get out of meetings. It will make it easier to do this, if you just keep telling yourself that it is only temporary, and that you are working towards a goal. That's how I did it. Good Luck to you.

  Um...no you are growing at the same rate as the general population which means your members are squeezing out kids...hence increasing your numbers you jag bag.

  Right on the money Evil! How dumb do they think we are?
