  Children calling jw adults uncle and auntie, when did that start?

  it sure is a peadophiles dream to have a kid they dont know call them uncle!

  "buy out the opportune time"... Do they really STILL say that? Gross! The Ikky memories come flooding back...

  Wasn't there a gas shortage in the late 70's, I think?? Maybe, not that I was alive at that time. Didn't get us out of the book study then.

  I love the "more to come" line, great way to keep 'em hooked and anticipating more, so they stick around a while longer.

  What's all this "grassy pasture's" business? Is this supposed to get them thinking the paradise is right around the corner.

  I thought the real JW's did not refer to themselves as the "Christian" congregation of Jehovah's Witnessess?

  I'm with you Blue Sapphire, I can't tell what this article is trying to be about. It is so poorly written, I got annoyed with it, and didn't finish reading it. Doesn't seem legit at all.

  Daddy wont answer the phone when i call him anymore :(

  i called my dad the other day crying and left a message saying daddy i need u pick up i need you and right in the middle, click my step mom (i m guessing) hung up on me.

  i also emailed him pretending to be my husband several times and he always answered before, im so scared for him .

  hes bi polar like my brother who died two years ago from suicide.

  Hi there,

  How about calling the police, explain your fathers medical history, and ask them to do a "check welfare". My husband is a cop, and does check welfare calls from time to time.

  Then maybe you could follow up with the police, on what they found out about your father's situation and whereabouts.

  for those who are fading, do you feel the pressure building as the memorial approaches?

  family members who otherwise are busy with their own interests suddenly start paying more attention, dropping hints and holding their breath as it were.

  Meeting Clothes

  i absolutely hated the concept of "meeting clothes".

  all my meeting clothes were hand-me-downs from other brothers.

  i always hated getting hand-me-downs from the fat jw kids who were older than me.

  Back then, we had to wear nylons with our meeting/service dresses, even when the temp was over 100. Talk about your chafing in all the wrong places.

  Nowadays, I noticed the witness girls can go bare legged. Lucky things. Its great going to (non-jw) church now, and not having to worry about "meeting clothes". I can wear jeans, or dress just about as casual and comfortable as I want.

  i hated service, hated getting up early, hated wearing dresses/skirts,hated bugging people early on the weekend, hated "preparing" for service (all i did was read the little blurb on the inside of the awake lol) hated being grouped with elder ihatecoffeebreaks and sister letsdoonemoredooreventhoughits12.......one day brother ihatecoffeebreaks asked me why my time was dropping in service and i said "because i hate service" ( i mean i was taught to be honest right?

  HATED IT! Fudged on my hours to keep the elders off my back, like so many others have done and still do. So their number of hours reported for preaching work are mostly made up of exxagerated numbers. Such a farce.
