Are we going to see a mass awakening?
by kairos inthe internet is the archive for civilization.. watchtower cannot hide it's history.. are we seeing the beginning of a mass exodus out of her?.

ha, spiritual cooties. Don't think the awakening will be massive but more people will wake up as the time goes. Remember that thread where only one person got baptized with 1500 in attendance? So there is definitely a certain enlivening going on. But it will never be huge all at once because you still have the cult stigma and guilt factor associated with the brothers and sisters. -

Is there anything about the JW's you still like?
by donny insome jw's on various postingshave asked me was there anything about the jw's i still agree with.
of course there are some things i agree with and some i partially do.
1. political involvement - while i do not agree with totally avoiding anything associated with politics, i agree that many of todays churches are way too involved in trying to sway their constituents beliefs.

I incline to believe that when you die, you go to hell. Because while you are on earth, the entire globe gives you heartache and then you receive even more heartache when you go to perpetual damnation. But when you are gone from the globe, placidity is on your designations in the globes. None of these things can be relished when you realize there is an astronomically immense fraud in the organization. So, no. Nothing. -

What comforts you when you no longer believe in a ressurrection ?
by EdenOne inour family just lost someone dear and very close, a faithful jw.
as we went through the entire funeral services and meeting long time brothers and sisters, who in general have been very kind and warm towards us, we realize that the hope of resurrection is a meaningless utopia for us, like a fairytale for little children.
we don't have faith in it anymore, and serves us of no comfort.

One thing that comforts me about not believing in resurrections is that you will no longer erroneously feel that that someone will come back. Like that mendacious hope that you have when you believe in it when someone dies. On the other hand You limpidly do not appreciate when they were here as much as you would if you did not believe. Yeah about resurrections and the dead and gone. "I will optically discern them anon" That is what they verbalize when they believe. Another route. You might as well believe in zombies because this is assuredly the polar antithesis of the credence God will bring back the non living. All in all it avails you to appreciate life more overall other than wasting it because you believe it will be a fairy tale later. -

Does everyone here know they are on record with JW's forever?
by runForever inrichard ashe a full-time special servant of the order of jehovah's witnesses testified in the lopez case that every single disfellowshipping and disassociation and other things have all been scanned in 2011 and are and will be on permanent record with jw's forever.
is this legal?
another completely ironic and warped thing is the disfellowshipping form is called the s77 form.

I find it comical when witnesses verbalize they care about people who have "left Jehovah". They do not even care to be polite anymore especially if that person was disafellowshipped. They are so diligent with the brainwashing and incipient recruits they will not care about a few unavailingly futile documents of Satan's adherents. -

All things considered, when will THE JW religion end?
by sowhatnow inid give a guess of maybe another 15 to 20 years ,.
nothing will be the same , if there even is a headquarters.. opinion?.

For a while there will still be the people believing in the hoax. To be plenarily veracious, the religion will culminate once the more incipient generation of governors, owners, or presidents transmute the religion into an even more conspicuous scam. They will do this eventually because they will be crazily desperate to keep people inside the cult just like the governing body is today. But at that time very few witnesses will still be involved. The numbers will go very far down in long time. -

The best reasonable, rational, intelligent discussion on religion I've ever seen

Jon Drake, I honestly believe with all the scientific advances, new knowledge, and just an overall better understanding of humanity will help people to eventually wake up from religion in its entirety. We should not have to rid religion by force because I think in the coming centuries people will just stop believing in religion as it slowly becomes unpopular eventually. One example of this is the Spontaneous Generation, an old belief that faded once scientist found out about atoms, elements, protons, and other discoveries. Of course, religion is not just a belief but a system designed to fool people and control them by playing with their emotions and gullibility so it will be lengthy. But I truly believe that somewhere down the line, centuries from now, religion will prove to be highly unsuccessful. Most children today are learning the truth early on because of technology and that will surely affect the coming generations. Since the decline of religion is an ongoing phenomenon, this can become true someday. Instead of trying to vigorously stop religion, we should let it eliminate itself -

Reason why God wanted/made humans write the scriptures
by looter injehovah's witnesses believe that god sent humans to write the bible because his servants can relate better to humans since they are humans.
i heard that at a meeting two weeks ago.
it does not make sense to me at all but i do not know how to explain it.

yes. Thanks everyone for making it clear. LisaRose I find your explanation to be very insightful. it is stupid to believe jah let humans write the bible when humans make lots of errors. and God is supposed to make none errors. Zero. So it would make more sense if he wrote it. Simone you made it the most clear. and you know what, it really is that simple. -

Kingdom chorus
by looter inso im at the meeting after its over and this elder says to me that god needs my voice because he, the elder, feels that my singing is not loud enough.
i did not tell him this, but singing just is not my thing.
he then went on saying how gods people are better singers than "the worlds singers".

Wow man me too. used to sing with so much zeal but now I hate singing period. And when singing in the Kingdom hall, it just takes forever to sit down..
