What the hell is wrong with wearing pants
first off....let me qualify something.
lets keep this to modern day christians in civilized lands.. many on this board are non-believers, and there are quite a number of christians.....so we have a mix.. non believers feel they need to speak out concerning what they have come to understand regarding the bibles authenticity to believers because they feel these ones need to at least see the sceptical side so they can make an honest choice.. believers feel they need to speak out to others concerning what they have come to understand about salvation.
here's the deal..............if believers can live a happy, good, healthy life, and take this to the grave with them..........should a non-believer try to mess all that up.....or leave well enough alone?.

A Christian is someone who has a loving relationship with Christ. Period. That affects how they act, sure, but let's not get it the other way around.
The Christian belief system is one of "grace" and "mercy", not good works..
"You're all individuals"
"Yes, we're all individuals"(Life of Brian - Monty Python)
How can you have a loving relationship when it's one way...you pray and possibly worship him..and he?
I guess this is getting off Gumby's subject line.
how sorry i was to hear from dansk-he is going through a very difficult time.. i would like all prayers, thoughts, please keep this in mind ____ for me!!!!.
the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!
they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".
((Ian))
That Country Girl sure is a sweetie
I know this is a bit insignificant, but I have a little piece of cardboard stuck to my desk that says "Ian."
I thought I was special when she told me she had a piece of toilet paper stuck to her shoe with my name on it but she went all out for you!
Must be comforting to some degree knowing that a large army are behind you...large in number not size.
Take care
as you know, i?ve had a bit of a day.
((((((you guys)))))).
i am stunned and numb right now, and for some reason, i do not feel as tired as probably should.
((Corvin)) Get some sleep if you can..if your not exhausted now I'm sure it will hit you hard soon.
This whole situation is way out of my league but if I could humbly suggest one thing...forget about the WTBTS and concentrate on doing what you can to limit or decrease your ex-wife's influence on your daughters.. especially her husband.
It sounds like that is what your doing but this past week has also brought alot of anger against the WT and your local cong to the surface...put those bastards behind you...don't let them take up your valuable and precious time with your girls.
Maybe you can't because they keep sticking their nose where it doesn't belong...maybe you should see about a restraining order against them as well as your ex-wife...I don't know if that's possible or not...if it is get me one too.
Corvin...take all I say with a grain of salt, I am not in your shoes and can't imagine how difficult this is.
Thinking of you and your family...Shotgun

I see...you mean trouble makers like littletoe..that rotten kilt wearing fiddle playing unorthodox christian...god love em
I'd say the world could use alot more christians like LT...open to discussion and not dogmatic.

Most Christians seem to be harmless...most!
Christianity does seem to play a pivatol role in Wars, in under developed countries and even countries which we deem to be developed.
What would happen if there was a true seperation of Church and state...without any religous backing would these wars gather the backing that they do...I'll leave other religions out of this as you mentioned Christianity...
For example..without the backing of the Vatican would Hitler have been able to pull off the atrocities...I don't think so.
As for trying to convert an unbeliever to a believer or vice-versa...to each his own as long as beliefs do not hinder the growth of a progressive and caring society where freedom of thought rules...no cults!
Gumwizard...It's a tough question to answer, especially if you look back over the History of Christianity.
i thought i might post a link to a test web page i have thrown up on my unfinished (no time to finish it) web site.
some of the old timers on the board have seen some of my commercial work that i have posted from time to time (the 3d image of caged headed watchtower robots) and a very few have seen some of my fine art pieces that have been either published or seen at my home.
this temporary web page is up for a few friends to see the start of this new series and for a few collectors of my art who wanted to see that i am doing fine art again (after an 8 year layoff) so they can get the hell off my back.. before clicking on the link please understand that the first pieces of this new series, that i have put five examples up of, are nudes.
Fantastic..Dave
I'm sending the links to a friend of mine who at the age of 35 quit her job and is going back to school full time...she will be truly impressed with your work.
today i drove my daughter nancy to shool after the incident last night to ensure that she was ok. she never showed up to her first class, but took a bunch of pills she pilfered from her mother's bathroom a couple of weeks ago.
she was discovered, and i was called.
i took her to the hospital right away.
(((Corvin)))(((Nancy)))...I'm so sorry...I can't imagine the pain and emotional strain you and your kids are under right now.
the first thing that struck me when i entered a kh for the first time, was the staggering numbers of handshakes being given here and there.
it was as if they didn't see each other since months or years.
in fact they were together just a few hours earlier in the service.
Just think if they practised what the Levite priests did...reaching under your garment to make sure your twig and berries are a complete before entering the Tabernacle......HELLO!
