up high on my list has to be when a jw co-worker named john fitzgerald tore into me one morning (when i was coming in late for work) for grabbing a quick piece of cake from the lunch room.
turns out, someone in this small little office had brought in the remainder of their birthday cake for folks at work to finish up eating.
john was older than i and a ministerial servant (ooh) and felt it his responsibility to keep me on the straight and narrow.

One thing that continually bothered me were elders who sat on Judicial committee's and df'd people for celebrating holidays while they're own children had done the fade and started celebrating after a few years without any repercussions and their JW families contiued to associate freely with them.
does anybody know how long it takes for one to get re-instated if you are not that well liked by the body of elders?
i was disfellowshiped for immorality almost 2 years ago.
with my job and attending college to keep in step with my field of work, i have only been attending the sunday talk & wt meeting every week.

what if anything has your experience with pot taught you either about yourself or someone you know , was it a positive or negative infuence .
Its legal here in B.C or at least if you have less than 17 grams it a fine with no record.
I have not had it in years but always found it to be soothing when used in an intimate group and made paranoia set in If I was alone. The effect seemed to hinge on my surroundings and company. The biggest drawback was buying it...always scared of a sting and the people who were selling it.

I don't know if you ever noticed but many of the prophets and even Jesus would see visions or have Revelations from God after fasting for weeks or isolating themselves for weeks. Almost reminds me of something many natives would do in order to have visions or dreams, deplete yourself to the point of hallucenation and also use sensory depravation to accentuate the experience.
If your body is sacrafice to God and you should not smoke or defile it, is it better to deplete yourself for 40 days and leave yourself open to so called demon attacks that way. The WT often points out that when you take drugs or others substances into your body you are leaving yourself open so that the demons can take over your weakened mind or thought process, I don't see a big difference between the two.
my wife and i are new to this forum, and really, we're now new to life as well.
or rather, life is new to us, normal life that is.
i don't want to turn this into a novel (at least, not yet).

The only time I can think of is when the nit wits were put in prison for printing all kinds of stupid shit in the Finished Mystery which condemned not only all other religions but also the US govt.

I wold think it must suck to be a C.O.....even worse his wife. Same boring talk for a year...bagged lunches, travel aound and point out things that cong need to work on as per head office instructions. You can really see when you talk to them it would be almost impossible to discuss issues we talk about on the forum..they have invested their lives in a lie and could never accept it for such.

Yeah and thats a real nice story about Lot and his family who had to be dragged out of a supposed depraved city and then later his daughters got him drunk and had sex with him......I never read about them dragging any wine flasks with them when the angels were dragging them out of the city into the mountain caves. Maybe there was U-brew close by. Or was this what Lot told everyone when his daughter became pregnant. Take a look at his character...first he selfishly chose a better region than his elder Abraham. He decided to live in what the bible calls a depraved city. He offered up his two virgin daughters to a mob instead of kicking their asses. It goes on and on...I think more than likely this was a case of incest and abuse.
Do you think that maybe many of the ancient stories in the bible could be manipulated to fit or convey a thought or explain a catastrophy. If you think its not possible read the WTBTS publications and see how they have portrayed themselves over the last hundred years and how millions of people accept their accounts as truth and gospel. Gods chosen Org in 1919, Jah selected the name Jehovah's witnesses, Jehovah reveals the bible truths to the FDS. In the 1975 yearbook being able to buy 500 tons of coal was a sure sign of Gods approval.....I'm rambling again...Ok deep breath and relax.
