Crying at the movies

i have a hard time expressing my emotions in front of others.

i mean, i'd rather be naked than to let anyone see me cry.

That damn snowman movie made me cry...the one where..Michael Keaton dies and comes back as a snowman and makes peace with his young son.........what.......could happen!

Two for two failed in G of Eden, not good odds

reading recent posts about the creation account, i remembered a thought i had as a teenager.

jehovah created two perfect people, sat them down in a custom-designed garden, tended to their every need, and told them to fill the earth with more perfect people.

given the explanation of free will, i suppose odds would dictate that a certain percentage of earth's inhabitants would stray and be cut off.

First two fall short after being tempted by one of his Angels who wanted the same thing God had...which I thought up until that time was walking around the Garden of Eden looking for his two naked subjects...doesn't seem reasonable that Satan would throw it all away for that....doesn't sound like a big whoop to me.

Then the third person born..almost perfect decided to kill his younger brother because he had blond hair and nice sheep.

The killing and defections from heaven never stopped...and it never will I suppose if man is truly created in Gods image as portrayed in the bible.

this next piece may upset a few of my christian friends, for that, i ask that you please do not click on the link.

i have learned to separate people as the person they are, and not as the religious belief system they have settled on.

I like the use of money although Freddy brown shoes would frown on you using a cross instead of a stake.

Intended or not, I see in this work the power and corruption money bring and the power and corruption religion has wielded throughout history...they're almost the same.

Maybe the verse, the love of money is the root of all evil would apply and could be altered when thinking of religion...the love of power is the root of all evil.

Nice work...thanks for the insight into the mind of the artist as well...it adds to my perspective.

I don't know how that J.R Brown sleeps at night...PR frontman for the Creator of the Universes Visible Organization.

J.R. Brown of the Jehovah's Witnesses denied that his church "protects" members from allegations of sexual abuse.
"Our policy is to obey the law and in this instance, the allegations for the sexual abuse came to us in the form of a confession," Brown said from their New York offices on Tuesday. "And we took these allegations to the authorities. And we have documents to prove it."
DSS officials say the allegations of abuse were reported to them May 3 but will not say who reported it. Brown would not say at what point prior to May 3 the church had knowledge of the allegations.
Brown says the Rock Hill church did not participate at the Meza family funeral because surviving family members did not request their help. He said the Mezas' church did hold a memorial service the day after the funeral.

Are Christians harmless?

first off....let me qualify something.

lets keep this to modern day christians in civilized lands.. many on this board are non-believers, and there are quite a number of christians.....so we have a mix.. non believers feel they need to speak out concerning what they have come to understand regarding the bibles authenticity to believers because they feel these ones need to at least see the sceptical side so they can make an honest choice.. believers feel they need to speak out to others concerning what they have come to understand about salvation.

here's the deal..............if believers can live a happy, good, healthy life, and take this to the grave with them..........should a non-believer try to mess all that up.....or leave well enough alone?.

If you have a copy of the December 2003 Awake magazine dealing with taxes note the first page of the article.

The WT uses two quotes to show taxes have been a concern for thousands of years.

The first quote is from a Babylonian artifact dated to 2300 bce. The problem that presents is that only 69 years previous the world had been destroyed by a global flood according to WT chronology.

Which means that in a mere 69 years Noah and his three sons have produced a nation with sufficient infrastructure to require taxation.
