i have been reading the posts on who is and or had been an elder.

it amazes me at what many have said.

perhaps i have misunderstood what they were saying.

study wt 15 nov 2013 page 22 para 5 " This includes cooperating with the spiritual undershepherds he has appointed" Its speaking

about jesus here.

Then para 6 on the same page says "The same is true of christian overseers today, since they too are appointed

on the basis of scriptural requirements inspired by the holy spirit"

This thread is interesting as the concept of whether the holy spirit actually is at work.

We continually get from the platform how we follow the lead of "spirit appointed men".

To me it seems the meaning of" holy spirit appointment" is as loose as "generation"

Isn't there a passage in the Elders Manual where the gov bod remind elders to be careful with

their recommendations as the gov bod rely on the elders information when approving the appointment?

So, to me, it seems that the elders decide who can join their circle based on what they SEE. Is that not also

unscriptural? Which leads me to the obvious question in my mind. If the holy spirit appoints the annointed and we are not

allowed to question that, how is it that those directly charged with protecting the sheep can be scrutinised and appointed

by fellow humans?

Just noted that the "would not preclude the resurrection of the people of those cities" Sentence

has been removed from the online sanitised Insight vol 2 Sodom topic.

I'm therefore guessing that many of the references used on this site may well be

"tactically" removed.

So no doubt a letter will be forthcoming to advise all to ignore the lies, (alluded to in this weeks study brochure)

that can't be supported by the online research tool. "If it's not there it never happened".

gotta share this experience.. had a shepherding call from a lone sanctimonious elder.. he started banging on about the new light in john 17:3. know jehovah.

this weeks wt study.. i let him roll on for a while then pulled out an old catholic douay version dated 1962.. made sure he saw the cross on the front cover, he didn't want me to open it up ha ha.

i insisted he would appreciate the comparison with christendom's bible which of course renders .

as I recall when I challenged me real mum she would always have a reason that I could comprehend.

And if I couldn't comprehend it her past "form guide" gave me comfort!! albeit begrudgingly ha ha

Seems me defacto mums got a few reliability issues

I know The dog1 I have started using Biblos.com. but I had this old bible that someone gave me and it

made me feel empowered at the time.

showed how little research the "leaders" do!!!!

well phizzy, thats what I am finding.

After being in the world and getting the tee shirt, I've started thinking about spirituality and or purpose apart from dollars.

At this stage dollars don't tempt but fulfillment of some type does ( for a confirmed batchelor) ha ha.

I am enjoying searching and researching what I never did earlier. The proof never was there as I see it now, but I will prove

this for myself without the influence of family or new found friends. Kind of sad when you see the facts are not there.

I have a question thats pertinent to where I attend.

Why is every body moving to other congregations but remaining in the old

congregation's territory?

this week in the brochure for the "bible reading" it states on subject 24. that jehovahs witnesses wrote a century ago that jehovahs bacjs us and we do t take donations "and we never have!!!!

".....please someone post the information to prove this as a lie as we all know they used to charge for literature.

the "missionary" levy should pick up at least a cool 12 million, conservatively speaking.

I have this feeling that the last couple of wt articles will lead to some aspect of tithing

given that it wasn't mentioned. Conspicuous by absence I reckon
