Was getting some food when a U2 song came on. I'm not a huge fan but I like some of their songs. I noticed that the lyrics of their songs exude more emotion and spirituality that bland kingdom melodies.

Expect regional conventions to be huge. Just like this year. Rent fewer venues. Cram more brothers into venues. Hold less conventions. Spend less cash. I think they were not breaking even at some smaller venues. I used to attend at a venue locally. Now we are to travel 3 hours. This makes the tract campaign of invitations even more useless.

Is there going to be a 2014 district convention?
by booker-t ini have heard rumors for over a year now that the wt is not going to have a 2014 dc.
i know they are having a circuit assembly and special day talk assembly but what about their yearly dc.
has anybody heard anything?.

The OP is partly correct. They are getting rid of District conventions in 2015. See the post on the new regional conventions. This will save the branch money.

Child molseters cannot be disfellowshipped over the testimony of one witness, but elders will use entrapment to convict "apostates." I never knew that 1914 was an essential Christian doctrine. How ludicrous.

The WT has quietly divorced any Biblical events of significance from this 1914 date. Most people are too dumb to notice. I haven't seen any recent references to Jesus' presence beginning in this year in a long while. Please let me know if there has been info relating 1914 to Christs presence recently published.

The whole "bible trained conscience" thing is pure conditioning. Studies show that blind obedience causes us to ignore our conscience. That's exactly why the test subjects who followed orders felt uncomfortable. Yet they did it anyway. The GB has caused many people to ignore their natural conscience and make choices they normally wouldn't. Chosing to die because of blood and shunning family members are examples.

The GB is now even insulting is own members. In today's lesson we learn that we are gullible if we believe media reports about the JWs. This manipulation is sad. Now people willfeel incredible internal pressure not to believe anything they read. Cult conditioning.

Intro to psychology is enough to see through their control methods. That's what I'm taking now. And the GB is definitely becoming subtly more authoritarian. Especially since the new fds teaching.
