The leaks from the new November Watchtower are alarming. They will disturb even longtime JWs who haven't surrendered all rational thought. It's become so cult like its scary. I've had a theory for the last 6 months that they intend to drive out fringe JWs, which would allow them to contract/shrink the organization. Then they could sell off real estate and further cut costs. The remaining JWs would all be hardcore devotees.

Even the first century "great tribulation" has no parallel to the fanciful narrative the governing body has dreamed up. Remember Jesus told the Jews to get the heck out of Jerusalem. Nothing about hiding in basements or seeking safety in a congregation.

Having other people do the thinking for us is easy. That's why we allowed it for so many years, and why organized religion will always be in style. Interestingly Jesus didn't preach much doctrine. He mostly talked about how to live in this world with other people. He said nothing definitive, that why all his followers are still arguing 2000 years later. keep seeking knowledge and truth. That's what life is about. that's why god gave us a brain. You are now free to use it once again.

Have you seen witnesses texting during meetings?
by yogosans14 ini was dragged to the hall last sunday and wendsday and this woman infront of me was using her phone for the study articles and when we were getting up to do a song i saw her quickly sending a text, which shocked me because i know they dont allow that.
are the jws getting more and more leniant?.

Actually the growth rate has slowed. They should be over 10 million if they had the growth rate of the early 90s. Baptism numbers I've been receiving indicate a growth rate of under 2%. Nothing to brag about. Also remember they count unbaptized publishers, many of whom are kids who never get baptized and eventually leave.
