Head covering for women--how did you feel about this? Men? Women?
by humbled inthinking about how this felt awkward to some of us women when a bible student noticed something was "up" if a baptised brother sat in on a study.

Wheat/weeds parable defeats "organization' teaching
by Zoos inin his illustration at mathew 13: 24-30, jesus made it clear that the wheat and weeds were to grow together until the harvest.
this parable runs contrary to the concept put forward by the wt about getting out of the world and running to their organization for salvation.. first of all, the parable says that the weeds will be gathered, bundled and burned first then the wheat will be gathered into the storehouse.. wt teaches that we need to gather up the wheat first.
not only are they doing it backward, they are teaching that true christians must isolate themselves inside a special wheat organization, separate from the weeds.

Wow another MS! There have been several that have signed up recenlty. The JWs are losing their best and brightest. Dont feel bad for being a critical thinker. You might like the site Beroean Pickets. It's run by a brother who appreciates deep study apart from WT doctrine. I read it ocassionally. Check it out. Especially his post destrying 1914.

I did it !!!!

i met with my elders and told them i could not justify carrying on as a jw.
i went and got my high school qualifications and my higher education diploma (a levels with distinction) in just 12 months.

What is the GB Giving Back?

the post about the cos being retired and recent wt articles about caring for older ones made me think.
the gb is doing everything to cut costs while at the same time asking for more sacrifices.

The GB is doing everything to cut costs while at the same time asking for more sacrifices. People will need to spend several hundred dollars to attend conventions.
Why doesn't the GB have plans to share food or other items as discussed at Acts 6?
Or James 2:15,16- If a brother or a sister is lacking clothing and enough food for the day, 16 yet one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but you do not give them what they need for their body, of what benefit is it?
Why is it a hardship for the GB to support the COs in a JW retirement home? They have no savings. Why burden the congregations and then expect them to give more donations?

At my hall we joke that nobody can explain 1914 and that everyone studying now has mental problems. The publications talk to us like we're babies. No adult would join after sitting through a part about preparing for the district convention. They have come out with simplified editions of the WT and other publications because many new converts are uneducated. At the assemblies I'm disturbed by the amount of weirdos present.
