Problem is that child abuse situations aren't well aware for JW's compared to Catholics. JW's will deny it if someone was to speak about it because of the "clean" image the organization tries to portray. They will also doubt the information. Unless there's more awareness, people will contonue on. It's information control and minimal coverage that helps thrive.

I saw bookmarks that reminded me of people's Christmas cards with a picture of the family or congregation. I guess it's their version of that

Getting really for three days in hell

i know this topic has been discussed over and over again, but it's just so fun to complain about it.

I went to the international one for one day. Glad it was only one cause it was so uncomfortable and humid. Was at the MetLife stadium in NJ, but looked more like an umbrella convention with all the umbrellas popping up. Ran out of water and was so thirsty. Didn't see what was so special about an international aside from people wearing traditional dresses. It was like any other convention with the same old speeches minus indoors and air conditioning.

"It's not religious..." Wait... What???
by dynamiterose77 inmy friend, mike works as a massage therapist, and there is a woman at the shop that is super-jw-woman and is constantly hounding him with things.. today, he's messaging me and he tells me that she was trying to push a brochure or something on him.
he said he'd really rather not read a religious pamphlet.. so... she says, "it's not religious... it's from god.".
isn't that kinda what religious means?

The lady just said "it isn't religious" to get the guy to take it. I think it's cause they assume people get turned off by religious things, this is an "exception".

Entertainment for International Delegates
by Listener inbibl3thumper has posted a youtube of the celebrations that took place for german delegates.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvs6_q7rqps&feature=em-subs_digest.
it's hard to believe that they are now using the kingdom hall to sing pop songs and for dancing.

Being an International delegate is to receive the VIP treatment. They all trade goodie bags with bookmarks that have their picture or congregation photo on it. It's like their version of Christmas cards.

THE CURRENT FADING OF BRAND NAME "THE WATCHTOWER"
by steve2 inthe current fading of brand name "the watchtower" & the rise, rise, rise of jw.org.
the watchtower as brand name is in the process of being imperceptibly faded from visibility in the organization.
who'd have thought you could make a watchtower fade and disappear?
-

JW.org is catchier, unknown, and slicker than "watchtower". I agree with your post, change of name doesn't draw the same associations as the previous name does. It's the modernized version, much like KFC or saying Mickey D's. For a religion, they are using advertising methods to get more people.

How much punishment can WT take
by joe134cd inin some ways i just have to admire wt for the amount of crap they can take and despite this can keep it from the r&f, and still keep coming up smelling of roses.
you think about all the dramas they have had and can yet still keep showing an increase - all be it in internet deprived developing countries.
but even still an over all increase is still an increase.

It is quite amazing how they've been able to keep many members in the dark about all this. It's a small religion in comparison to others, so what they do doesn't get as much attention as say the Catholic church. 3rd world countries tend to turn to religion as a way of comfort and living, developed countries don't as much since there's wealth, education, information, less problems, and other factors that take away from religion.

JW Kids Who Lack Sincerity: Are You In The Flipping Truth Or Not?
by Apognophos indid any of you know a jw youth who didn't seem to really even try to be sincere about the "truth"?
not someone who led a double life while pretending to be a goody-goody jw.
i mean the kind of kid who went to the meetings and did field service while making minimal effort at maintaining a pretense of being a true believer?.

I was a lot like that, still am. Now it's not such a big deal knowing ttatt. I do the minimum effort, go to meetings, go to service some saturdays of the month only because of my parents and family. Before knowing ttatt I believed in it but not to the extend of having enough care or motive to do more, I didn't enjoy it much. I always tend to day dream at meetings and field service isnt very fun. I didn't become a publisher until I was 19, 20 being raised in this religion- pretty old age. But I didn't lead a double life doing bad things. What other alternative is there when you're raised in it and that's all you know?
