Greetings Cookie and welcome. I cannot tell you how much this forum has liberated me. It's an amazing source of friendship and information.

I hope you are recovering from you "Sunday Satire Session", aka the Watchtower. I also hated the WT conductor, which did'nt help any. He could'nt even get my name right. The bastard.

Brilliant, Fabulous and Awesome that you are going to college. New information, environment and potential for life long friendships.

I hope one day you will be able to escape the Borg. Take each day as it comes.

this week's wt study

i conducted the wt study tonight on higher education.

i wondered what the reaction of the bros and sis would be.

there was no deviation from the idea that a university education is not a good idea.

You speak great English, hijosdelawatch. Appreciated your thoughts, especially about the lonliness and rudeness. I think alot of JW's lack basic social skills and are so wrapped up in their own "God's chose people trip" they can't see anything else.

That elder's comment about insulting those who had "given" their lives to Jehovah was utter BS. What an arsehole.

I know a pioneer couple who are both on disability allowance and live off the state 100%. They are better off like that than actually working. It's a joke. Self righteousness shoved right down your throat.

Cherish your parents who are supportive of you and carry on with your studies.

We are here for you.

I need to make some new friends now.

it gets harder to make friends as you get older and you're children more independent, i feel.. i know it sounds a bit sad but any ideas about how to make some new friends??.

i'm not averse to joining a club or starting a new hobby.

i just feel a bit out of practice.. nelly no mates xx.

Swimming and the gym has replaced Sunday meetings

we went swimming today, and joined up in the gym.

we will go every week on a sunday, and i will go alone twice a week.

i found it particularly easy to get involved with the other gym members in the suana, or playing with our kids in the pool.. we had a really great time, we even had reading time by the pool.

Hi honey. So glad you enjoyed your Sunday. Beats the meetings!!! This week's WT is a pile of crap.

My son was told it was "bad association" to go to rugby. He went for the first time after a year out yesterday. He really enjoyed it. He's not much into contact sports either. He loves to cycle though. What about that? You can join cycling clubs for specific age groups too.

So glad you are starting to enjoy stuff more. XX

this morning's wt study almost made me vomit, stand up, pick up my bag and rush to the door.. of course it never happened.

instead, i was able to make some nice drawings on my tablet and notepad.. if you replace the name jehovah with watchtower, or the governing 8 men, it would really make sense.. what's up with all that nonstop guilt-mongering about education and having a decent job?!.

most people look down on the uneducated, and i remember, when i didn't have a job, nobody cared!.

It is indeed, a load of bollocks. A seriously f++ked up WT. A real lulu.

It was this summer, my husband was facing redundancy. The elders told us to pray about it and leave it in Jehovah's hands. BUT they also did'nt want him to keep his job, as he works some weekends and is too tired to make the mid-week meeting. He did keep his job because he puts 100% into his work and will often help out his boss when he needs. He's gained a Masters Degree which his employer paid for and is treated well by his boss.

The elders suggested he should look for another job because they did'nt think her was cultivating his spirituality. He was only at the study stage, thank God BUT what right have they got to tell him that? Do they not realise that good jobs and bosses are hard to come by?? They live up their own backsides. There is a self righteous fat little pioneer who lives on disability benefit that kept suggesting this. Talk about living in an ivory tower.

I hate them and all their small minded little ways.

No one should be made to feel marginalised for wanting to better themselves and secure a decent future for their families. If this includes higher education, promotion or relocating. I am so glad I'm not there today to listen to this crap. It's only fit for next weeks garbage.

there are certain songs sung at christmas time that have nothing whatsoever to do with christmas.

i've been reading lyrics lately to make sure, then i make comments to my uber-jw wife, who really, really hates what i'm saying.

for example, the song, "let it snow" has nothing to do with christmas.
