  forgive me for indulging in a goodbye but it would feel wrong not to,.

  i hope the discussions and atmosphere here do not change for it is a bubbling brew of doubt, bravery and sincere hunger for answers.

  these are healthy ingrediants for humans and especially for a jehovah's witness.. this forum offers not just the ability to ask without consequence, but it also offers the means to be real.

  Full-time service is MORE IMPORTANT than taking care of elderly parents!!! It says so in the Sept 2014 WT

  "full-time servants age, and so do their parents.

  when parents are witnesses, likely their fondest wish is for their children to stay in their assignments.

  In complete contradiction to the scripture where it says if a man doesn't provide for his family, then he is worse than one without faith.

  Just shows these guys are not Christians whatsoever. They aren't teaching Bible truths or following Jesus command to love their neighbour.

  Total cult bullshit.

  Been asked to share my experience at church!!

  my vicar asked me if i and another lady would like to say a few words about our faith journey.. she said my story was a particular powerful one, what with the da'ing and subsequent shunning.

  i can also choose a hymn or christian song.. i was thinking of romans 8:38, 39 to highlight the shunning and the other scripture ne of how true christians will be indentified, if they have love among themselves etc.

  i need to look that one up exactly.. any ideas for content for further content??.

  i'm trying to fade away from the jw religion fully aware of ttatt .

  my wife is still under mind control of this cult and teenager 14 years old attending most of the meetings an some ministry arrangements but is not interested and going just to please mum.

  i actively educate my son about about other cults and their practices and he knows i don't believe that wt has anything to do with god.

  an old jw friend of mine died on saturday, and i used to be best friends with her jw husband.

  we were close friends for 14 years.

  i was like his daughter.

  So sorry to hear about your friend passing away.

  Please don't let this poor chap upset you. He is not allowed to think for himself or choose his own friends, even. Pity him. Maybe send a card to let him know you are there for him. Keep the door open. He may need you one day.

  well guys, i finally got back from the dc or whatever it's called nowadays.

  it wasn't really as bad as i expected but still, it was pretty bad.

  I was 36 when I started posting here. This weekend I celebrated my 50th birthday!

  and i mean celebrated!

  it was a cracking barbecue party for around 40 good friends and neighbours as well as my 'never jw' cousins and one of my brothers and his family.. .

  drank a bit too much, embarrassed my kids with some 'dad dancing' and laughed until 2 in the morning.
