It is a nightmare. I told one sister that this couple, whi I'd texted specifically NOT to contact me, turned up on the doorstep last week. It was lunchtime and they are greedy little pioneer peeople. She said it was because they "cared" about me. Total crapola!! It's just plain rude. Effing morons.

Hi Kate. What I also noticed this year that some much of the doctrine had changed. Been reading lots of postings on here about the "new light" and to be honest, it just wrecks my head. I could'nt have gone on the min if I'd tried. How can I explain something to someone that I doubt/don't understand myself?? Jesus' message was not about confusing people.

I stopped going regularly in 2006, came back in 2009 for a few meetings and then stopped. I starting coming back in Feb of this year and realised.....they are "not normal" either. They are generally poorly educated, got dead end jobs and their kids have no normal conversation. How scary when a boy of 10 answers up like a grown up and does Bible readings? You should highlight these obvious points.
I don't know if I am just getting older and wiser OR a majority of JW's are barking mad?

They NEVER once thought to bring a pack of cookies or something. The brother used to boast he never had to buy clothes as he was always given "stuff". He was such a jackass. I pandered to them and then the light came on and I have'nt studied since August. I am now DA'd.
after serving in an appointed position for over 26 years (21 elder, 5 ms,14 pioneer), i have no more dreams of paradise, bored at the meetings, do not enjoy the field ministry.

can they can't fire me cos i quit, surely??.
I had to break free. Last week the pioneer couple called at my door after I specifically told them not to contact me. Are they thick or what?? I never answered but made it clear I was at home!!!! Tee hee.
I just did'nt want to hide anymore in my neighbourhood. I really don't give a f**ck what they think or say about me. I love God and still pray and feel he will understand what I've done.

why do we have assemblies?
was the topic of the book/brochure study last week.. the answer not presented is that they are the organization's black friday.
stores do black friday as a loss leader to get people into the stores to spend money on more pricey stuff, not discounted.. assemblies are put on to give away books and other literature and have dramas to get people in to donate and contribute more than normally done.. yes, religion is a business.
I used to dread assemblies. Because I have depression, it was a real torture. The expense now, is horrendous. Lots of people stay at hotels and go out to eat every night. Buy new clothes etc.... It always made me depressed and guilty as it did'nt make me feel "so spiritually upbuilt" I wanted to shout it from the rooftops. I last went to an assembly (Twickers), for Sunday only in 2006 and that was one day too much.
I feel sorry for the Mum's who have to look after bored children (as I did), while Dad is an attendant and schmoozing with the other bro's.

i just got done with another visit at my home with two elders and even though i tried to say very little they took anything they could as a disagreement with them as enough to say they may call a jc meeting after they talk to the rest of the elder body.
so since they are planning on dfing me any way, i'm wondering if i should just write a letter or go through with their meeting?.
I had to do my DA letter because there quite a lot of witnesses around and I'm sick of them hassling me. Also, I DON'T want them to call at my house. It's embarrassing....
my "friend" works in a sex offenders prison.
my "friend" had been having a study and going to the kh.. my "friend" is aware of 3, yes three studies that are being conducted for 3 convicted sex offenders.
one of them was not df'd for his crimes.. i am writing my da letter this weekend.
Just put my letter of DA into the KH letterbox. No doubt there will be an elders meeting today after the meeting. Would LOVE to be a fly on the wall. What do you think will happen now?? I specifically asked NOT to be contacted unless it was by letter.
Gonna have a wee drink at lunch to celebrate my freedom.
