  Was thinking about this last night. I got married out of the truth but what would have been the situation if he had been a vicar or something like that? Talk about cat amongst the pigeons!!!!

  How do you guys feel during the holidays?

  this is a very lonely time of year for me i admit it.

  i'm suppose to be going over my aunties house wednesday after work.

  but going to christmas/holiday parties and get togethers, i still kinda feel out of place.. i really wish i grew up celebrating the holidays more.

  This year, I feel free. I can be true to myself and I have always loved Christmas. I was lucky enough to have a non-jw dad who did insist on mom and I getting into the spirit of things. I don't think my mom really minded to be honest!!! My grandparents were all non-jw's so we celebrated with them as well.

  Just spoke to my JW mom, who said she was considering going on the ministry today. WTF!!! I told her you could'nt because it was Christmas Eve. She said, jehovah came first. I said it was'nt polite to disturb people on such a day. She's decided to stay home. Small steps..... I wished my non-jw stepdad Merry Christmas and it cheered him up no end, as he knows I am free.

  I hope everyone on here has a happy holiday, whatever they have to do.

  i think there are many that stay in the religion simply because of family/friends considerations.

  I would be drinking a lot. I would have also told some home truths to a few dubs that drove me crazy and paying the price for my honesty, Even more depressed, like Julia. Not celebrating Christmas, which I am doing this year. First time in 14 years. Yay.

  I would like to say a Big Thank You to everyone who has helped me, esp comments on my first post "A difficult congregation" which finally gave me the courage to leave.

  Training the child regarding right and wrong

  interesting experience i had friday morning :.

  here is illinois we had freezing rain, so while waiting for the train at 8:00 am people were slipping and sliding all over the place.

  i was on the platform, 5 minutes before the train pulled in, quite a few people were also waiting.. a lady ( about 40 years old) was holding onto her mother, who looked to be in her mid 70's as they crossed the track platform.. suddenly the mother slipped and fell, i dropped my coffee and ran over to help her along with one other man.

  That is really awful.poor kid.who probably gets a wallop for not behaving at meetings. Be glad you are not part of that place anymore.oh and well done for being such a hero.xx
