If you wanted to be "a good Brother" you should have sent them all home after they ditched the b.s. literature in a dumpster. BTW, taking the group out for ten o'clock beers would have served a greater need than the coffee shop.

Quotes-
Right on! I remember the WTS talking about Catholic white masses in the South in the morning and black masses in the afternoon (Thomas Merton railed about this) and saying "but not in Jehovah's Organization." Years of segregation in the WTS until it was "safe" and "acceptable." Next step, a black GB member/"helper" with initials and is a bulldog lawyer.

2 Chron 22:2...what the heck?
by doogie inok, hopefully someone with a handle on the original biblical languages can help me out here.
i was reading some information another poster on the board sent me, and in it, he mentions an odd situation shown in 2 chronicles 21:20 - 22:2he was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in jerusalem; and he departed with no one's regret.
they buried him in the city of david, but not in the tombs of the kings.

A note from Scofield's 1917 commentary:
We have here an account of the reign of Ahaziah, a short reign (of one year only), yet long enough, unless it had been better. He was called Jeho-ahaz (
#2Ch 21:17 ); here he is called Ahaz-iah), which is the same name and of the same signification, only the words of which it is compounded are transposed. He is here said to be forty-two years old when he began to reign ( #2Ch 22:2 ), which could not be, for his father, his immediate predecessor, was but forty when he died, and it is said ( #2Ki 8:26 ) that he was twenty-two years old when he began to reign. Some make this forty-two to be the age of his mother Athaliah, for in the original it is, he was the son of forty-two years, that is, the son of a mother that was of that age; and justly is her age put for his, in reproach to him, because she managed him, and did what she would—she, in effect, reigned, and he had little more than the title of king. Many good expositors are ready to allow that this, with some few more such difficulties, arises from the mistake of some transcriber, who put forty-two for twenty-two, and the copies by which the error should have been corrected might be lost. Many ancient translations read it here twenty-two. Few books are now printed without some errata, yet the authors do not therefore disown them, nor are the errors of the press imputed to the author, but the candid reader amends them by the sense, or by comparing them with some other part of the work, as we may easily do this.

I have a large backyard, a screened porch, and a large place (if it rains). I live 15 miles from downtown (North York) and I could host an afternoon/evening Apostatefest. If there were at least 10 people (that's what Abraham said) it would work. I won't be providing limo service to and from the airport, but I do have many floors to accomodate those who partake and need a nap. So PM me if interested, and I will start a thread with specifics. Faders, apostates, current JWs, and confused elders, COs, and Bethelites are invited - no cameras or microphones allowed.

UN Question
by kilroy2 ini was thinking about the society being involved in the un, and then thought that they preached that the un was going to destroy all religion [nondubber] soon.
so when they got involved in the un do you think it was because they know that they are full of shit?
or do they justify their bull shit by some nonsensical reasoning?

When I look at the GB collective I hear the words of James -
1:23 (TWENTY) For, when any one listens to it and does not practice it, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror.
1:24 Although he has looked carefully at himself, he goes away, and has immediately forgotten the sort of man he is.
These old men murderous, lying, and scheming bastards will get their due; the sooner, the better.

Must be nice for the GB to look in the mirror and forget what they see. What a lesson of absolute crock!

That looks like my ex-wife, and yes - imagine waking up to her every morning. Actually, that picture looks like a good moment with my old honey. I don't miss the screams of her violent temper.
