i get Df'D today

might go back to the meetings - what am I getting myself into?

both being very civil about it.
my sister will most likely be disfellowshipped as she is with another man (a very nice british guy, actually).. .

I have to agree with Tickled Pink - bring a few pitchers of strong drink, as well as a flask for the bathrooms. Sounds to me like group therapy at Sunday meetings is not a good place to start ANY HEALING from the past - more like a set of repeat performances.

Why did I leave after 50 yrs a JW
by londoner ini am not posting this to justify my actions, i am doing so for the benifit of any witnesses who are unsure about there feelings toward the "truth".
i was a reguler pioneer for about 8 yrs, back when it was 100 hours a month, befor thet i did a couple of yrs as a vacation pioneer, they later changed the name to auxilery pioneer, and during the following 20 yrs i had a few intermitant spells as an auxilery when i had time to.
during my pioneer years i have given talks at circuit assemblies and had assignments at district assemblies .

Yes, we've all been there unfortunately, but some of us realize the power the WTS had by bad doctrines and prophets untested, now we've tested these power bastards and come to the realization that they duped GOOD PEOPLE, and we still will be GOOD PEOPLE without them. Dissing the WTS
by LittleToe ini came to a stark realisation, this week, and it's simply this: i no longer feel any need to use derogatory terms about the wts.. i had closure, from leaving the jws, when i da'ed january 2002. around that time i accepted it as being a "cult", whereas before i used the term "high-control group".
i started using terms such as "borg" and "dub", to describe the wts and jws, and i really do think that helped the process of extracting indoctrinated ideas.. i hate what is being done in the name of that religion, but i see that in other religions, too.
other than the briefest of moments, i've seen fairly clearly that getting angry or obsessive about a corporate entity is a little futile.

The president of cong. has invited me to dinner and a little "talk"

the president of our congregation has invited me and a couple of other young people from the cong.
to dinner on friday and then to watch the new "youth: how to make good friends" video, and then have a little "talk" about it.. though, im fearing that "talk" is going to be a little bit more serious than just a relaxed night out.. should i go?

Hell, there are 2 birthdays mentioned and both had bad circumstances, so birthdays are outlawed. So where's the parity Crooklyn? Hypocritical bastards like their sauce too much.

Why I am leaving JWD
by logansrun ini'm leaving this forum...at least temporarily.
as i mentioned in conversation over dinner at the chicago apostafest, my upcoming school schedule (which begins next week) combined with my workload will make it very difficult to be an active member on this forum.
perhaps i'll check in occassionaly when life is a little slower but for now i'd better distance myself from the on-line scene or else the other elements in my life will suffer.

by nicolaou ini was born in 1964, a convenient 50 years after 1914. even in my early teens i was doing the sums.
i had a worse case scenario figured out - if the 1914 generation could apply to babies and even if they lived to be a 120, i would still only be about 70 years old after they'd all died!
i figured that i was part of the first wave of 'jehovah's people' that really would live to see the new order - guaranteed!!

unclebruce - loved your pioneering stories, brought back memories. Yes, we were lifeblood to many disenfranchised folk; maybe we were the only people who listened to many of them, though we had our agenda. There are so many lonely folks in the world just waiting for someone to talk with, listen to, and even accept a BS, or rides to the KH.
I bought 1914 date/chronology lock, stock, and barrel until I realized their past dates (Russell & Rutherford), and when I dove into Studies in The Scriptures I realized these bastards chameleon nature, their lies, deceit, and criminal behavior. May Crooklyn burn!

Thanks for the posting! What a load of crap- Happiness For the Holy Ones - the depression was a great song and dance after the 1335 days and 7 bowls poured out from Cedar Points forward. They still won't give up the "Judge's juice dreams." I remember at the end when I no longer could conduct my book study and one night shut down the house on book study night - they studied downstairs at another Witness apartment, with a pissed off elder, who rushed over to conduct (as if it were a Symphony Orchestra). It was over that night - couldn't teach the rubbish no longer.
