  Toronto ApostateFest Scheduled For July 30th

  WhiskeyJack-

  The gin is stewing well in the 100 degree North York heat. This morning the Dalmatian (after plunging into the bathtub) was chanting Galatians from the Latin Vulgate version while studying for the Theocratic Ministry School quiz. She confided to me that she would ace the review. Should not be long before OFC gets her liquor-ing into full gear. I might have to enter training.

  50th anniversary of my mother's cult induction

  this week marks the 50th anniversary of my mother's baptism as one of jehovah's witnesses.

  she and a childhood friend, who was baptized at the same assembly, will be having a "get-together" this weekend to celebrate.

  (hmmm...wonder if that doesn't tread too close to "glorifying the individual"?

  Flowers are good regardless of the occasion. She knows where you stand. Sounds like she has many problems and adding to her pain won't get good results. Just love her and let her come to an understanding, one day - as we did.

  Voyager-

  This makes sense seeing that Jesus said that the "stones will cry out" and witness, seeing that the Witnesses are too busy "building and planting, buying and selling, marrying and being given in marriage." Wonder if the bathroom faucets are 23kt gold? Maybe champagne could flow from the faucets too?

  Entry level manufacturing position:

  2 hands that work, 2 feet that work, and can pass a drug test.

  You're hired.

  Best part - poor JW ends up with the job, is the lowest on the rungs, and the "worldly" men and women have the time of their life riding the Jehovie Newbee.

  Thanks for the great advice Brooklyn. The FDS always provides "food" for the "family of God."

  Anything worth seeing in Boston?

  i'm going to boston, ma for 5 days (6-11th of july) to a conference held at the mit.

  so i'll be staying in cambridge actually, but it seems to be adjacent to boston.

  on one of the days i'm supposed to give a presentation, but i should also have a day or two off for sightseeing.

  The Vineyard - Martha's Vineyard - an hour and a half drive from Boston and then a boat ride to the island - Martha's Vineyard. A very beautiful place with a nude beach down at Gay Head - cliff mud and places to heal, sweat, and bathe. I spent 2 weeks sleeping there on the beach one fall in a tent, then headed to France, and while in France, wondered why I left the island cliffs.

  I was wrong, CT Russell was something of a prophet after all...

  i am reading studies in the scriptures (1911) thy kingdom come..on page 145 ct russell describes what is wrong with religions of his day and their sunday schools & bible studies, ie people belong to earthly religions or organisations.

  was he describing other sects of his day, or did he forsee what his bible students would eventually become?

  methods hinder real growth in knowledge of truth...guarded, pointed questions, with prepared answers and no time left for the bible hungry student...bible study, skilfully directed, so that he may get no new ideas...brief sessions [one hour] more agreeable than bible study...they are led to feel they have performed a duty, and a sacrifice.

  For all current JW's-

  We didn't see how mad Russell was. How drunk Rutherford was. How great a businessman Knorr was, nor how Fred Franz was a total lunatic, and mind you; we all believed such bunk! Russell, was no prophet at all - yet he was a huckster; but, he was not a thug like Rutherford. Piss on the JW past - these men were apostates to Jesus and the TRUE GOD! G.B. - may you partake of the plagues - FIRST!

  * Art Museum (Huntington Avenue) Excellent Archaeology (Egyptian)

  * Science Museum

  * Harvard Museums

  * Freedom Trail Tour

  * Aquarium

  * Fenway - nothing like it!

  * Boat from Rowes Wharf to Nantasket

  * Trip to the Vineyard (if enough time)

  Wild Cat is not hung out to dry. Monkey is licking chops, tail between legs and heading back to Green Bay to hang out to dry. Bath tub gin is improving. The dalmatian was doing calculus this morning, and this afternon calculating the number of angels on a pin, mind you- on a sliderule - doggie style. All is well with the plum wine, and Kittel's Version of the Ben Asher Text. Forgot to turn in my time for May.
