Maybe he was eating paper dragons or Phoenix birds laced with lysergic 25? Maybe? Maybe, a few Adolph Coors and shots of JD to calm down the rantings? Maybe?

Was reminiscing about a Lyman Swingle story today...
by WTFBBQPWNT ina bethelite friend back in the day told me that, during the time swingle was the head of the writing dept.
and was working on writing his assignment in a new release publication or an "important" new watchtower issue...that he would lock himself in a room for 3-4 days with no food and no water, just him, his research, his writing, and supposedly his prayers.. i remember how hearing things like that made me really think that the fds must really be approved and guided by jehovah.
either way, he must have been a pretty spiritual man.

Was Rutherford Mentally Ill?
by VM44 inin the golden age goodies thread leolaia has posted two letters that were printed in the magazine written by rutherford, one in 1928 and the other in 1938. in both letters rutherford states either that radio "was created by god" or "no man invented radio".. rutherford also goes into his conspiratorial ideas of how the roman catholic church was working with the nazis to overthrow the governments of england and of the usa to bring in a totalitarian fascist government to both countries.. these remarks sound like the ravings of someone who is not mentally all there.. so the question that naturally arises is this: was rutherford mentally ill?.
i believe that he was.. --vm44

YES! Deranged power hungry lunatic, a raving madman, who should have been sent to an institution. Instead, he built an empire based on fear and false prophecies.

How Many More Ways Can The Society Shoot Itself In The Foot???
by minimus inwhat kind of religion forces its elders to ask every imaginable question regarding sex to its congregants?
the elders are told by "mother" that they must ask specific sexual questions and decipher whether a person should be classified as meriting a judicial committee or "just" counsel from a couple of men.
who the hell do these men think they are???

With their threats of a War God who smites and rains down fire, decimates, and will burn your ass at the big A, they'll get away with it as long as people fear the miserable bastards who worship a mean and malicious God. This is no - "God is love" organization!

I feel bad for all those who have gone through the "Blessed Exodus from Babylon" via Cedar Points, and the 7 bowls in the 1920's. The history of a religion in denial of being false prophets. Yes, 1914 over and over, 1918 over and over, 1919 and the cleansing of the "Spiritual Temple" and yes once again, back to Cedar Points. No wonder the town of Cedar Points put in a roller coaster, it was to signify the "Antitypical Roller Coaster Ride." Have fun you lurkers. Should be a wonderful year of pablum and delusion.

Did we really believe in Armaggedon?
by james_woods ini got jolted into a forgotten realization by arthur's world events and time of the end thread.. my personal "truth" was and is - i never even really believed in it!!!.
and, yet allowed myself to get brainwashed into following around like a robot and talking to other people like i did...unbelievable now that i think about it.
but in the back of my mind (what little part was still working on its own) i was just thinking - yea sure.

It's rather obvious that the "brother" is doing well spritually, taking in as much spiritual food from God's table. It's also rather apparent that the congregation has "a hold on him." My earlier comment was on target. Though, lunch time sex would mean that he might have to leave the Watchtower study before announcements, the final song, and prayer. What a sacrifice to get some koochy before he goes home to his wife... Guess the new Watchtower on fornication, loose conduct, and uncleanness will not disturb your honeymoon.... Tell the brother to keep up the good work in spreading Jehovah's message.

** July 15 WT: Do NOT murmur against the "faithful and discreet slave" **
by truthseeker init's curtains for the watchtower.
they have finally published what many of us here have known for a long time.
the july 15, 2006 watchtower has three study articles, the second one will be of intense interest.

All you apostate slime, remember what happened to Korah, or is it Koresh? Anyhow, I loved this one:
Such murmuring is often caused by a lack of understanding of God's way of doing things.
There is more understanding on this board than in the borg, we UNDERSTAND. The publishing company is up in flames, and the money is coming in slowly - HOORAY!

Welcome!
Sounds to me like you have found one wonderful spiritual man. Going to the K.H. is better if you both engage in some oral sex in the parking lot before entering. No need for him to wash up, the elders will love him just the same. A few quarts of Colt 45 will aid your visit. Oh by the way, if you disagree with anything, be very vocal; stand up and let it be heard. Please tell your lover, to keep up the good work, he'll be an elder in no time at this rate.

Thanks for the pictures Blondie. Only the best for the worldlings, lavish living while waiting for Armageddon. Where is Tammy and Jim when a con is going down? Swaggart didn't have the bravado that the JW lawyers have. May they all rot in their version of gehenna!
