I went to my first KH 3 Sundays ago and was quite suprised that they we'ren't pushy. In fact, no one even spoke except the man in front who let me borrow his songbook. I am a Christian and always have been to church. I went because I'm involved with a JW (we're both married) and I wanted to see what he experienced every week. He used to bring me the booklets but has since stopped. Why are JW more pushy out in service but no in the KH's?Also where can I get June's edition of Our Kingdom Ministry online? Reexamine.org doesn't have it. Thanks Everyone!

Because you're already there! All they need to do is show you some "love" once you're in, even if the "love" is fake. Shoving literature down your throat is your study's job.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but are you saying that you are having an affair with a married man?

They never are pushy when you first attend their meetings, although I am surprised that they didn't have much to say to you. First - timers usually get love - bombed both before and after the meeting. It's their way of reeling you in once they think they've hooked you. If you keep attending, you will soon have lots of new "friends", and will be offerred a free home bible study. That's when the real indoctrination starts.

    Be careful!

They sure hate it when you leave the borg though - can be nasty!

maybe he stopped bringing you the leaflets cos he was worried you were getting too interested in going to the meetings?

My thoughts exactly, except put more delicately.

Many Kingdom Halls are becoming more cold and less pushy. Even those I've been out in service with (when I was going out this past year) where very reserved and not pushy. They have really toned down. Many have just come to accept that nobody will listen to their message and so don't really put much effort into their ministry. The organization is really starting to change.
