serious questions:
• What would happen to all the land assets and money if the leadership were to suddenly call it quits?
• Could they get away with embezzeling everything or no?
• Is it possible for the watchtower legal dept to assess/bill the society itself into a massive amount of debt (kinda like how scientology does to defectors), making it so that particular group/faction of the leadership (the lawyers) could walk away with everything scot-free?
i've talked with some good friends on the board about this before and we seem to be in agreement : one reason ( among many ) that some disfellowshipped jw's go back and return to the wt organization is because they are full of uneeded guilt or uneeded fear because they haven't educated themselves about how the wt society uses mind control tactics to deceive them into thinking they have " nowhere else to go " .
i understand that some dfed ones may go back to the organization for family and friends- however- it's an exrecise in futility because once you learn the truth about the truth you cannot undo what you heard.
so some may just go back and live a fake jw life to appease family- but just think of how that can damage a person's emotional and mental health playing the fake jw game the rest of their lives !

maybe a silly question, but i'm curious about this part of the story of christ's crucifixion, when the 1 thief challenges jesus to save himself and "us too" from their deaths, but the 2nd thief rebukes him and pleads with jesus... .
luke 23:42-43: and he said unto jesus, lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
and jesus said unto him, verily i say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise.. .
JWs actually mistranslate Luke 23:43. They move the comma to after the word "today", changing what Jesus was saying.

Why the attempt to deliberately deceive people by mispunctuation by placing a comma after "today" in Luke 23:43 when in the Greek, Latin, German and all English translations except yours, in the Greek in even your KIT, the comma occurs after lego (I say)?-- "Today you will be with me, in Paradise". 2 Cor. 5:8, "to be out of the body and at home with the lord'' These passages teach that the redeemed go immediately to heaven after death , which does not agree with your teachings that death ends all life until the resurrection (Ps. 23:6 and Heb. 1: 10 ) .

Loved it when my last "shepherding" call consisted of a young buck-ass elder clapping his hands together like a seal when he learned I was going in for an operation. If I'm going under the knife and coming out completely helpless and discharged to my husband's care, YOU (meaning young punk ass dipwit) are not coming at all. Period. End of story.

And then he has sex with those same daughters later on, who conveniently give birth to literal rival/enemy nations of Israel. Uh huh. Of course it was scheming women who are to blame for that, too.
Or how the one patriarch didn't want his sons to give a woman a child in the name of her dead husband. When his male children kept dying because of being forbidden to give her a baby in the womb, she dolled herself up as a harlot and had sex with the patriarch instead.
And of course none of the men throughout the bible are counted as "whores" or "harlots" for sleeping with multiple partners. just like modern day prostitution: only the prostitutes are commiting a crime and almost never the "john".
Speaking of "Johns": when was the last time the WT named anyone/thing as part of the supposed "John-class"?

If (and that's a big IF) the WTS crumbles, I suspect that a significant proportion, perhaps even a majority, of JWs would end up as Baptists.
At least in the USA.
Not sure what my husband would do. Most JWs have been indoctrinated against other christian religions so hard that it's damned near phobia levels against them all. I've been sharing everything I read with him, long before I finally sent my DA letter to the local congregation last Sept/Oct. Why he stays with this nest of crooks is beyond me.
The new tithing arrangement even sounds like a last ditch effort of a scam artist/con man. If Jehovah needs money, perhaps he should pray... to whom? Us, the congregations? Yeah, no. God doesn't need money, but thanks for trying to hoodwink the masses yet again, WT leadership/Governing Body, inc/Legal dept., inc..
