DEUT 18: 20-22 NWT 20 “‘If any prophet presumptuously speaks a word in my name that I did not command him to speak or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.+ 21 However, you may say in your heart: “How will we know that Jehovah has not spoken the word?” 22 When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word is not fulfilled or does not come true, then Jehovah did not speak that word. The prophet spoke it presumptuously. You should not fear him.’

MUCH CLOSER LOOK -yes let’s take one
by Brainfloss inmcl responded in part, in an earlier post about the hypocrisy in religion even the true religion.
making dumb guesses about god's cryptic prophecies makes them foolish and indiscreet- not false prophets who claim god gave them the message.. two questions—.
1) what is the “true religion‘s” definition of a prophet?.

Two questions—
1) what is the “True Religion‘s” definition of a prophet?
2) What does the ”True Religion’s” most important source recommend regarding treatment of false prophets
Let’s take a much closer look.

G.B of JW`s trusting in Jehovah ? or Trusting in Men When It Comes To A Crunch !
by smiddy3 injehovah`s witnesses have taken it upon themselves that they have been chosen by god to be his witnesses in what they believe to be the last days ,the time of the end spoken of by the prophets of old.. they are on record as stating in their publications that it is their calling and duty to preach this message of announcing jehovah`s kingdom loud and clear publicly and from house to house even when under ban.. which they have done on many occasions in the past putting their trust in jehovah .. taking to heart acts ch.5 : 17- 32 which states in a nutshell ," we must obey god as ruler rather than men " .
they are also on record that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one satan the devil to mislead all mankind.. this includes all governments ,religious leaders ,economic, and social systems ,they have even stated that the united nations was a counterfeit kingdom in opposition to the kingdom of god for the benefit of mankind.. so what do we see today ?
true , we have a pandemic with this covid-19 virus that is wreaking havoc in the worlds health systems causing death to many people on a scale not seen since the spanish flu pandemic a century ago.. now i`m just speaking from a jehovah`s witness mindset here,to put there money where their mouth is.

Testing For Transparency - An Honesty Check
by Vanderhoven7 inplease share any other yes/no questions that might fit with the following 10. also feel free to critique the 10 listed.. testing for transparency.
there are some facts that jehovah's witnesses are reticent to divulge to new prospects.
you may want to find out very early in your discussions if the witnesses you are studying with are open and truthful about their organization's doctrine and practices by asking them a series of sensitive (potentially embarrassing) questions about their personal beliefs.

Are you or any members of your congregation currently shunning any of their children?

Zoom App Facing Probs? Another mishap or money grabbing opportuity?
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara in"while we have seen increased usage of our service globally, there are no assurances that we will also experience an increase in paying customers or that new or existing users will continue to utilize our services at the same levels after the outbreak has tempered,” zoom said in the filing.. https://mspoweruser.com/zoom-warns-investors-they-may-become-a-victim-of-their-own-success-as-costs-spiral/.
at the moment lots of jdumbs are using the 40 minute free modes, but the paper says it has made it free since the corona crisis.. i was just thinking this could lead to either a problem for jdumbs if zoom puts a hefty price for users or,their may be a opportunity for washtowel to dig their fingers into the pie as we have seen in their dealings.
its all about the money.. perhaps washtowel will develop their own and sell it to their members since they have most of this technology set up....donations can pour in again like water.... what are your thoughts!.

My email to JW Following Trolley Conversation
by cofty ina few weeks ago i had an really interesting conversation with three male jws who were loitering around a trolley at the west end of princes street in edinburgh.. i managed to completely avoid giving any hint about my jw past and focussed on why they thought the bible was a reliable moral guide.
i used the subject of slavery to illustrate my concerns.. one of the three was in his early twenties, knew a lot about his own beliefs but nothing about the real life and it was difficult to get through his thought-bubble.
the second one was in his 60s and not very bright.

COVID-19 another example showing local publishers/congregations are on their own?
by JWTom inmy area is a large city spread across two u.s. states and multiple different cities and counties.
the area of 2.5 million is covered by parts of 4-5 different circuits.
many of those attending meetings are at-risk individuals with health problems or age related risk.

Here’s what I know. My eighty year old elder, father had a meeting of eleven guests at his home last night so 13 in total including my mom. My 70 year old mom went out in field service this morning. My two cents is that this organization that has been lying to and dividing my family for 50+ years, Is still business as usual. They are using zoom for meetings and no doubt will plead for donations even though my dad and others like him are footing the bill and exposing themselves to possible life threatening illness. This organization sickens me.
