Can "Born-Into-Its" Ever Be Happy?
by Englishman injust wondering....take a 40 year old male ('cos he's an ex-elder!
) who's been born a dub.
he becomes disenchanted with dubdom and eventually decides to leave.

Ah, so you think it is possible to make up for the lost years
I'm not sure yet...I'm trying to do just that, but i'm still relatively young. when i first left i went utterly wild acting out and having my adolsecent rebellion (better late than never) to my own detriment. i'm trying to pace myself these days. if i reach the mental age of 21 before i hit 22, then i'll let you know. ;)
of course i think you can only make up for lost childhood past a certain point, if that makes sense...those early years are gone. i'm just going to have to live with the fact that i didnt get to believe in santa and the tooth fairy or get cake and play pin the tail on the donkey on my birthday. that's the sort of thing you can't go back and redo. you've just got to accept that you lost out and move on.

Won't he for ever be carrying an immature child inside his head for the rest of his life
Well, being a born in myself, i certainly hope that's not the case. i guess it depends on how badly you want to grow up. i still feel (and act) like i'm 12 sometimes, but maybe you just have to get it all out of your system before you can move on. born-ins have a lot of catching up to do, i think, once they do make it out.

Just what constitutes a "good seat" at an assembly?
by xjw_b12 inblondies post on an earlier thread re the gate crashers at the assemblies running to "save" the best seats got me to thinking..
just what constitutes a "good seat" at an assembly?
i've never quite understood that.

i always thought my bum was the 'best seat' in the house!! :P kidding!!!!!
seriously, any seat where you didnt have to use binoculars was great in my mind as a kid, sharing one pair between four kids sucked. plus you had to be able to scope out the flowers surrounding the stage so you would be able to pick out which one you wanted to take home with you at the end of the assembly :P

little depressed...
by jwbot ini need to vent, and what better place to vent?.
i can not get over the fact that my well-adjusted life, where i am happy, and to me, doing the right things, will always be seen as immoral by my family members and former friends.
the recent email exchange (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/56683/1.ashx <---yay drama) between myself and an ex best friend just makes these feelings come rushing back.

KM article (barf alert)
by Euphemism injust had to share some lovely points from this week's service meeting.
the article "imitate jehovah's goodness" has the following paragraph:toward unbelievers: one way we can imitate jehovah's goodness is by showing sincere concern for those not related to us in the faith.
(gal 6:10) showing goodness in practical ways can have a positive effect on how they view jehovah's witnesses and the message we bear.. .

Do I even need to say anything about this experience?
seriously, why are every single one of their 'experiences' COMPLETELY unrealistic? what fantasy land are they living in?? maybe if these stories were anything a person could even remotely identify with their literature wouldnt be such a joke.
wait, no, it would still be a joke. :P

JWs like Spartans?
by Valis ini was watching the history channel the other day and they had this show about the spartans and their life.
it seemed to me that jws are very much like spartans were in a way.
the men and women were groomed from early on to do one thing.

now now Tinkerbell82 what about Song number 8 - - you know Loyal Submission in recognition this to our gow we owe , he gives protection tender affection loyalty to him we show
OHHHHH my god! i had totally forgotten about that one! now i'm going to be singing it all day long!!!!!!!!!!! the one i always liked was, i dont know the name or the song number, it was something like 'god's hope for mankind' or something lame like that, i think...but it started out with very sombver music and the first line was "dark days are here, man lives in fear....'
then it switched to very lightheasrted tinkly music for the chorus, "but the bible tells us that something something..." i mostly just remember the music, my sister and i would CRACK UP every time we had to sing it, we used to get in so much trouble!!!!
