  Best family of 4 survival kits

  In our congregation two families, elders, in 1999 stocked up on survival stuff, spent a fortune, kept warning us to do the same. We had no desire to do this plus could not afford to. My husband joked we can come to your house, wow, no way was that happening, you should have seen their faces. Anyway we decided if jehovah let us die because we could not buy the right stuff well....

  2000 was such a dissapointment.

  So if we do not have survival kit, the right phones, the right tech. according to the rich elders then sorry, how loving is a God who lets you die because you cannot afford the stuff.

  If the big A does by any chance come I think I am dead anyway!

  What Shall I do tonight? I am young and single

  so i have a couple of options..... 1. an other poster is happy to chat with me but although him and his partner seem lovely i am not sure if i want to, especially at midnight, it's seems a bit sad.

  my jw friend is busy tonight with other jws going to a firework night, would have been nice if i wasn't a secret friend now.. 2. my ex collegue fro my mcdonald's years finishes work around midnight / 12.30, but he can't drink, i am trying to get him to be my wing man, but he needs to be in work new years day anyway.. 3. or i can post away here 24/ f ing /7.

  i love this place guys i really do, but i am so dependent on you guys for human contact, i need to do something more productive with my time.. there are my three options, which one would you choose?.

  jw friend going to fire works night with jw friends, how do they justify that, celebrating new years? Oh well if I could I would go to that, the supposed jws cannot be that strong a jw if they are going to a fireworks party on new years eve!

  Then in the new year I would make plans to get some new friends! Think of something you enjoy doing, hobbies, and find a club of like minded people.

  Or maybe have a Mc D around 11pm ish and a coffee with your friend, just to say hi, then go home and have a glass of whatever you like and watch a movie.

  so while i'm symbolicly burning at the stake for hericy, my wife is getting consoled by the very priests that lit the match.

  Sheperding calls are hell. They question you and want to know everything about you and whats going on in your life.

  Some elders are worst than others and push and push.

  Once in your home if you do not answer the questions they ask the same question in a different way.

  Some start off sweet and nice, we feel you are doing so well in this area....few scriptures and sweet talk BUT could you do better in this area few scriptures and not so smiley, then how are you coping things seem difficult for you in this area, whats going on..what are your problems...we want to help you, the congregation wants to help you, we are sad for you blah blah blah.

  They judge you as going against jw org if you do not seem cooperative, even if you kindly say you do not want to talk about private things, they push.

  They tell their wives everything.

  Does your wife want out? Be kind to her either way.

  My husband and I are dodging sheperding calls right now.

  musings from a sound booth - good and bad experiences in one morning of ministry

  howdy all , relieving the boredom at the meeting again.

  yesterday on the ministry i was offering halloween mags (i know,i just dont even try anymore!

  ) - the lovely missus said "you cant place those" so i said half sarcastically "the truth never goes out of date or changes" .

  The thought of fs makes me sick. Lucky for me my husband feels the same.

  We put in token report and do not go out.

  jws are only friends if you do everything right according to the Watchtower.

  Though if you are not in with the in crowd you are not liked and treated badly.

  How often did you entertain the "Traveling Overseers", and did you regret it afterwards?

  i found taking the traveling overseers out for a meal, to be a waste of time.

  our literature regulary spoke of the upbuilding talk the local congregations received by entertaining our brothers.

  now some of the modern cos look at their telecommunication devices, talk of things not related to our ministry or phone it in.

  The last three co in our cong. have been in their 40s. All very fat, love food, but trying to diet, so they say. They have also been drawn towards the elders who have money. Big homes material thing. At the meeting on Sunday they have a load of gifts from the rich in the congregation and the poor who want to get on, they then all go on field service after the meeting, Sunday, for a short time, then the rich take them out to the pub for lunch. The poor get excluded. The rich are the married elders and wives and children. Single pioneers do not get included. Though new brother with good job and big mouth does get included.

  Manage to miss our last co visit.

  As a child/teenager parents used to have them to vist. One co nearly had a heart attack when I turned up at my home in jeans and sweatshirt, he said why are you dressed like that. My mum said oh its her work day, half hour lunch break. Its work clothes. Then I got a talking to about my clothes and the fact I was working all day, and could I not take have been out in service! Mum then got a talking to because she had not been in service but stayed home to cook a roast beef dinner, it was winter at the time.

  They came by MY house today!

  color me gobsmacked.. i am home this morning, banging away at bookwork at the kitchen counter, when i hear the doorbell.. (when my doorbell rings, it is an event; i live one mile off the road.

  no casual visitors here, no salesmen.).

  i look out the side window, i see a minivan i don't recognize.. i peek at the front door, and there are 2 elders at the door, what the hell?.

  Watch out when they knock on your door. You do not answer. So they stand there and call your mobile/cell, you do not answer, then they call your landline. This caught me out and I finally answered the landline. said oh really sorry on the toilet!

  Hi thank you all for your kind words and good advice.

  Yes, it is making me ill. I am not a bad person, all I have done is not attend meetings or go out in service, because I just do not want to. And that is because I do not get the truth anymore! The them and us Watchtowers. New light. New bibles. Nasty elders wives. Pedophiles in the congregation!!! Elders who want to know/demand to know personal stuff.

  They think my depression is because I am not a loyal jw. Sorry my depression is because of the nasty unkind bullies, who I have let get to me!

  I will no longer be bullied.

  Looking forward to 2014. x
