Wed, I understand what you mean. But years of wt indoctrination and conclusions that I have come to on my own in the past, are not so easy to ignore. Hence, my shaky position at this time is to accept any medical treatments so that I can survive including blood, but my deeply engrained views and feelings keep shaking me up. THis is what happens to jws as myself. .

Are JW"S coerced to refuse blood transfusions?
by fearnotruth22 injesus showed the intended purpose of god's laws, when he worked on the sabath, avoided answering the tax question, forgave sinners that were commanded to be put to death by god's law, etc.
what jesus showed when he seemed to be offending god to fanatics was that saving life is more important that obedience to laws.
whatever god meant when he enjoined "abstinance from blood" to christians as belived by the wt, or when he commanded noah not to eat blood, and whatever the meaning is for people today of the laws that prevent the eating of blood and restricted the use of blood, certainly, based the way that jesus showed how god's laws should be applied, it makes sense that god did not mean that one should obey blood laws when eating or transfusing blood is the only means at hand to survive.

Is the rank and file aware of the serious dilema the WTS is facing?
by fearnotruth22 inthe rank and file fears "apostates" hence jws will not accpet any evidence or arguments from succh like ones.
the mind set automatically rejects any charges against the wts without examining facts obejectivle because the wts cannot be wrong.by definition jws view the wts as god's agency, so it cannot be wrong and even if it is wrong, it is for a reason that god is allowing it and it is god's arrangement and not the business of the rank and file to judge for themselves on that but,to leave it in j's hand and in time it will be taken care of.
in law that is called a catch all, which is sometimes the power that a judge is empowered with by the state to use his discretion and do whatever the hell he wants, pardon the phrase.. it is true that the wts has opoosers that distort facts and trump up charges in order to discredit the wts, but false accustaions against thewts do not camcel out real evidence that challenges the wt and above and beyond wt teachings is the evidence that puts a differebnt spin on and shows another perspective of the bible, and the concept of god affecting in peoples lives.

OX please don't misunderstand me. El blanko expressions, "new system" etc.' are jw expressions. Many active jws come to this board with the jw mindset (in the box). One can be df or no associationg or inactive and still have the jw mindest. I am referring to individuals who are not swallowing all the spiritual food and are seeing things differently. I am saying that there are different levels of having freeminds

Oracle it is a pleaseure hearing your views. WEd seems to be very well informed. I went to the hospital a couple of times in the past a couple of years ago, nothing major., but they alsways ask your religion. On one occasion the y told me that some people with the LC committe would be contacting me there, I was there for less that a couple of hours and becuase I was was there for did not require any blood, never the less if shows what wed is saying that if you tell the hopsital that you are a jw, the automatucally assume you dont want blood and contact the lc committee.
Get information, and dont make your choice based on religious interpretations that have shown to be on shaky ground, but determine if the blood risk is worth it to you on medical grounds for your ailment, andl consider all of the other options and their risk and then decide what you want with the help of MEDICAL experts not religious experts.IF YOU ARE CONCIOUS. KNOW your position before carrying the md card. I carry the md card still.
Make the right choice, live.

The only hesitation I have about not telling the hospital about being a JW is that I dont want blood for evrry little thing, and that Hospitlas may possible give jws better treatments out of fear, also if jw sis are in the hospital hopefully one would get better treatment because of their "loving "involvement, and aside from the lc enforcing noblood, they can also help to force hospitals to treat jws better only by their presence. These are only my feelings. I welcome info on this. However, where it is important to make the right choice is to choose to carry or not to carry the md card. REmmember, if yoou are unconcious and bleeding profusely the loving brotheres that signed your card will see to it that you dont get blood. THe cqrd itself is legal so that you dont get blood even if blood is the only way to keep you alive. So decide that now. IF you are unconcious you wont be able to. WAke up and smell the coffee

There are different levels until one is to totally out of the box. El blanko seems to be snapping out of it. No wonder he is on this board His expressed views show the same jw thinking we all had at one time Jw views and feelings linger to the grave in or out of the box,

SAM;
I feel that there are 2 sides to not saying one is a jw in a hospital. If one doesnt say one is a jw, the the docts will use blood routinely, If you say you are they have to vbe very careful with you and that is harder for them o do I THINK. (I DONT KNOW IWELCOME VIEWS ) I am not too comfortable with that allowing docs to do whatever is easire for them. Iknow that docs do that and that docs will not always do what is best for you, so you need to be informed afree to make what choices you want without the lc bugging you and without the docs doing to you what is standard medicine which as the wt has shown can be very dangerous.
maybe a reformed JW sect securin the power of choice to the patient about blood. I dont feel confortable giving docs total power over my body

It all depends on how you are defining truth. The problem with defining truth is that it cannot be defined so as for that day and hour no one know and no one knows the definition of truth.

BlueBlades;
Since according to Jesus no one knows the day or the hour, how does the Society know that it is in ones lfe time or how is it that they use the words you mention. They have no meaning since they they would only make sense idf some timeframe was known. It is deceptive to tell some one soon and then disappoint them by having them die waiting. hat do you think?
