I want a "No Blood Card"!
by Bee inok, first off, let me make it clear that i'm no baptized jehovah's witness.
i studied for about 2 1/2 years, and was a publisher for about half the time.
i don't attend meetings, because..well.... i haven't yet summoned enough courage to ask forgiveness for my many wrong-doings.

And by the way, you are extremely rude and disrespectful, and owe Blondie an apology. She is trying to help you, even though your decision is poorly thought out, ill-advised, and clearly unsupported by the people who love you.

Make one. The legality is in the witnessed signature, not the fact that it is printed on watchtower paper.

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 6-4-06 WT Study (SHEPHERDS)
by blondie in(b) how does jehovah feel about appointed shepherds?.
(luke 22:55-60; 24:34; john 18:25-27; 21:114) did jesus reprimand the repentant peter for his lack of faith?
" (john 21:15-17) as the bible account of the history of the first-century christian congregation shows, jesus' confidence in peter was not misplaced.

blegh to the Mrs Elder who is thankful her husband spends his "spare time" with her. What a priority she is that she gets sloppy seconds and is GRATEFUL for it.
Elders crying over you... yeah, we had one, he LET HIMSELF INTO MY HOUSE SO THE PIONEERS COULD USE THE BATHROOM, then stood in the entryway and cried his crocodile tears over the fact that I wouldn't come to the Kingdom Hall. Of course, I had been gone at least 6 months, and there was the pesky need to take a break and potty somewhere...
Thanks for posting yet another vomit worthy, controlling article from the "Mother." *puke*blegh*ptoooie* -

Who has Tattoos?
by Good Girl or Bad Girl? inhey y'all,.
how many of you have tattoos, and if so what are they?
what is the meaning, if any, behind them?
-
Odrade
People who choose their tats carefully, and get good quality work done by real tattoo artists rarely regret having done it. Those "most" statistics include people who get stuff done on them by their friends with a home kit, those who do their own with a hot needle and india ink, prison tats, whims and drunk tats. Yeah. LOTS of people regret those.
After thinking about it for YEARS, I finally got one on my right calf. It's a branch of pink dogwood flowers, and I love it! -

Got pierced?
by Mysterious ina shameless spinoff of the tattoo thread i admit, but i didn't want to hijack it.
what piercings were "allowed" and not allowed in your area, what have you got, when did you get it, and what do you think of piercings now that you are no longer a jw?.
where i lived the rule was no piercings at all for men with no exceptions.

Mysterious,
Single in ears only, and navel. Yeah, the navel took a long time to heal. Lowrise pants were just starting to show up in boutiques then. I did it about 13 years ago when I briefly "rebelled." Then I went back to the Witnesses, and refused to take it out. Several people told me quite pointedly that it was too "worldly," and it was a sign that I was rebellious. Hmm... guess so.
Freedomlover, 5 months and still not healed? That's tough. What gauge ring do you have? You might try going larger - Like a 12, it will heal faster. You can always drop back down to smaller gauge afterwards if you don't go too much larger.
I've been thinking about an ear cartilage piercing, but for now, I've got the 2nd half of my tattoo, so that's $$. eep! -

Friday District Convention notes: Control, control, control
by truthseeker inwell, one third of the convention is over, i had no choice but to attend due to my current situation.. the talks were worse than last year, and as usual if you have seen the program you will not find jesus in any of the talk titles - in fact, the only time jesus is mentioned is during a prayer or in connection with the ministry.. when you become aware of how sidelined jesus is, you can't help but notice that jehovah's witnesses are a modern version of the old testament religion - it's all about control, be attentive, obey the "faithful and discreet slave" etc etc, in stark contrast to belief and salvation through jesus.. only the talks with midly interesting material or that had ridiculous phrases used by the speaker are shown here.. friday.
9:50 be attentive to jehovah's promises of deliverance .
would you believe that this 20 minute talk was solely about being attentive to the program?

The question is not necessarily "what rights do the US courts afford the father over his USA-born child?" but rather, "what rights will you have as a mother, over a child not born in this country?" Will you have the right to remove him from his father's home, against his wishes, if your child is born in the UK, rather than in the USA? Or will his father have the right to keep him, and send you packing back to America, if he wishes? Talk to a citizenship attorney, find out exactly what the implications are for you and your child, depending on where you give birth.
