Bit ridiculous. Not a single fact presented, just a lot of emotionalism. "They don't like us! That means they are hiding something!"

It reminds me quite a bit of the JWs (or other cultish belief systems-) "They persecute and ridicule us, that is proof that they know we are right and don't want to admit it." No, it's really not proof of anything other than that another community finds you worthy of ridicule. How would it be if the other side published papers which made the primary argument as proof: "I.D.ers are laughing at us for believing in pure evolution, that proves we're onto something!"

that would be a rude question .... in terms of your jw experience, have the losses you've suffered been offset by the good you've gained?.

I'm far in the black on that transaction. Sure there were some losses, but the gains are so much greater, I don't regret finding out the truth about the JWs.

1988-1996 Kingdom Ministries- useful to anyone?

we're in the midst of a massive de-junking project around here.

before these go into recycling, i thought i'd ask if these are still useful, given that so many years of kms have just been digitized?

i have a complete (i think) set from 10/88 thru 12/96, in one of those ridiculous wt storage boxes.

I must admit, it's creative. Too bad about the broken bones. I agree he must have been quite drunk to sleep until the next day with a badly broken ankle.

the first thing i was going to do with my 200 mill.

was buy a nice big billboard right across from bethal and have it say "the truth is a lie!

WT-Says Moms Should not Work

the feb 1, 2008 wt has an article on p. 28 called finding fulfillment as a mother.

the article basically states that moms should not work outside of the home but stay at home with their kids to teach them things about jehovah.

it also states that moms that want to work outside the home full-time do so not out of economic necessity but to boost their self worth, to obtain financial independence or to pay for luxuries.

At this point, I'm willing to discount the whole idea of this supposed article. So many comments about it, but not one scan?

When I was a kid, we had a budgie that was similarly set upon by the cat. The bird disappeared completely, and since the cat was an outdoor cat (who had temporarily been let inside,) a very good birder, AND since we frequently forgot to put the screens down when we opened windows, we were completely certain that the bird had met an untimely death.

Three days later we were sitting at the dinner table, and the bird saunters out from under the refrigerator. I suppose he was down there cleaning up the forgotten crumbs the entire time.

Stupid bird.

i'm not sure if this has been posted yet, so i took the liberty of scanning a copy.

here is the figures for the 2007 service year report.

interesting that over 9,000 partook at the memorial last year when the numbers should be going down.

US stats: 211,000,000 hours spent, 37,000 baptized. That works out to 5700 hours per baptism. That's more that a Bachelor's Degree worth of hours for each individual.
