  i had an hour to kill before picking julian up at a birthday party, last friday.

  so, i decided to go relax at the library.

  Bwahahaha!!! So, do you need a 100' tree in your yard? I'm afraid I am not the one to be asking advice. My poor gardening judgment is the reason why I am now digging up the front yard! Well like most things, the root size determines the tree size. You could surround the roots with sheet metal the way they do with bamboo I suppose. Ficus don't really grow here.

  The First Nice Guy I Ever Met...

  died suddenly this morning of a heart attack.

  he was only 58 and had lost enough weight to cause his doctor to take him off of medications for high blood pressure and cholesterol.

  he was married to my dear aunt, and i feel so badly for her and their 6 kids.

  I was thinking the same thing, Chris. Who ARE these people? Speaking of, my 20th year High School reunion is coming up at the end of the month. I keep looking at the RSVP list and thinking "who the HELL are these people, and did I go to school with them?" Ha! The brain must be going...

  Barbarians, eh? It's always something. If it's not barbarians, it would be Orcs or Species 8472. At the moment, around here, it's irises. I'm digging up a huge plot of ground full of damn irises. I feel like I might as well be hacking through an enchanted hedge. Last time I plant those suckers. Life could be worse, huh?

  Times *I've* confronted people (strangers) for being rude...

  here are two instances where i had had enough and confronted people when they were being rude.

  was i over the top??

  instance 1.. i was at the supermarket and there was a group of kids (~17-19 years old), wanna-be hoodlums, hangin out in the produce section and two or so of them were eating sunflower seeds and spiting them on the floor.. i said in a loud voice (i was ~10 ft away) "hey- are you throwing shit on the floor?!
