Hello, and congratulations. There was a Triplett in this area, (Pacific NW) I understand he was an ass. I know there was some kind of incident with my in-laws, but I don't know the details. I wonder if it's the same one. I heard he "retired" around here.

Sorry this is happening to you. The only advice I have is to remind yourself over and over that you have no obligation to discuss anything with them. If they knock on your door, you have no obligation to answer it, even if they can see you inside. You don't have to talk on the phone with them, or respond to any other method of contact.
They make you feel like you have to meet them on their terms, but you don't. I know it seems an obvious thing to say, but sometimes we have to say it out loud.
When my husband and I were leaving (well over 10 years ago,) they tried really hard to maintain contact, one time even opening my door and walking into my house uninvited when my husband wasn't home. Unfortunately for them, I'm not easily intimidated, and stood my ground (in the entry way,) while this brain-dead drone elder cried his crocodile tears and declared his intention to help me in spite of whatever ideas my husband was filling my head with. AS IF!!!
But we just refused to give them any response at all, unless it was on our terms.
Early on, somebody on this forum told me not to be above using their own stick to beat them with. That was the best advice I got, and made me unafraid to point out that it was unscriptural of them to corner me without the presence and support of my "spiritual head." I also realized that they had to get the words to come out of my own mouth, OR they had to have two verifiable accusers/witnesses to any offenses I'd commit, AND those offenses had to be major sins, or else there was absolutely nothing they could do, judicially. Questioning is not a major sin, it is just a concern.
We were also warned not to answer their loyalty type questions if we did decide to converse with them, and so never made that mistake.
Just keep reminding yourselves that you have the right to control the circumstances of them interacting with you.

Friend gets "scriptural divorce" over wifes transgressions before they got married...
by sosoconfused inso i have a friend in a congregation in new jersey who recently called me to tell me that he got a divorce.
nothing surprising there at first but it is the fact of when it happened.
his wife began pioneering april 1, and after about three weeks she came to him and told him that about 4 years she had engaged in loose conduct (fondling the penis and the guy kissing her breasts) during a time that she was inactive.

What difference does it make if WT legal tells them to reverse their decisions? They've already humiliated the woman, and ruined the couple's marriage.

Today's Watchtower Lesson Really Bothered Me...
by dontplaceliterature ini was a hair away from telling my wife i never wanted to go to the kingdom hall again after today's watchtower.
the conductor mentioned something along the lines of..."if you think having to shun your disfellowshipped children is bad...you should read up on the israelites.
when one of their children was disobedient to the law, they had to take the before the judges so that they could be stoned to death...and guess who's job it was throw the first stone?".

Yep, it is sad. And people like that will use WT studies like this to justify their choice of shunning. My mother is like this. Ultimately though, it's her choice, and if even hateful and shocking statements like this can't wake her up, that's on her.
What a shame.

The people who will bury their heads will do it whether the statements are overt or sugar coated. The ones who have a chance of waking up... well, they need to hear those things. I know words like this definitely contributed to my subconscious breakdown and exit.

I hope they continue to make proclamations like this. The more heinous statements they make out loud, the more people will be shocked into waking up and leaving.

Fading and the Blood Issue
by brotherdan inhey everyone,.
so most of you know my story and gave me the advice of taking things slow with my wife and not rushing her in regards to leaving the "o".
so i have been taking things slow, saying things that i appreciated from the meetings, and keeping my mouth shut in regards to everything that makes me want to vomit.. last night we were talking (very amiably) about some things that i said on a youtube comment, which she busted me about.

I believe one of the reasons my mother is shunning me (I'm not df'd or da'd) is because I told her that she and dad needed to put their wishes regarding blood and medical treatment in writing. I told her that if I were the one tasked with making their medical decisions for them, I would decided based on what was medically sound, if there were no other documents to the contrary outlining their wishes. The discussion occurred because my mother was telling me that, under no circumstances would she take any fractions, even if they are now supposedly a conscience matter.
At the time, I found all of this especially ironic, as her best friend at Bethel was one of the primary researchers who wrote the pamphlet/article (4 years ago?) explaining and outlining a large portion of the "fractions" policy. A year or so prior to the conversation, I had opportunity to view the final draft of this article and its accompanying illustrations. This was before my mother became aware of the fact that we were never going back, and that I would prefer to rely on the advice of real physicians, rather than researchers for the WT writing department.
They simply don't think rationally about the subject. They react as though you'd requested them to eat a meal of dog poo blended with strychnine.

Wow, you're a nasty piece of work, aren't you?

Troubled: most of the proteins that cause the issues are directly related to diet. If you can put the cat on a no grain food (raw diet or no-grain processed food) you might find it resolves most of the allergy problems.
