  What are the wrong reasons for JW to keep going to the meetings?

  If you are going to learn something new or to grow spiritually, then that would be a wrong reason to go. However, if you are going to the meetings because you have a date for breakfast after the meetings then thats fine. Socializing is a good reason to go. For anything spiritual, wrong reason to go. Blah! Blah! Blah! Do More! Do More! Do More! The end is near,can work up an appetite, pretend your going out in service after the meeting then detour to your favorite Breakfast spot. May I suggest I HOP! Pancakes and Eggs and of cause, Coffee

  If your meeting is later, then its off to lunch!

  Remember to hand out a tract or magazine before and after you eat, then you can count your time while your socializing with your date.

  everything is normal, then.. anne rice says she hopes to take her skills writing vampire books and "redeem myself.".

  Thanks Randy! There are so many books and films on Jesus. He does exist verses he don't exist. What makes Ann Rice think that she can top all that's been written about this man.

  I was wondering where you went. My first thought was that you had ran out of questions. Then I thought wait a minute, that's not possible! Minimus is the champion questioner, not even the Watchtower with its "Questions From Readers" section, which by the way I think, you, Mini were the one who sent in all those questions from readers to the Watchtower, could keep up with you.

  Just for information purposes, in case it should happen to me, what caused the hard drive to crash? How did you fix it? Why did it take nine days? I hope my hard drive don't crash.

  Its been horrible for us too, not haven't you here! I missed your questions and topics and responses. Among others you are one of the ones that I look for when I come here. Like I said before, I might not always respond to your post but I still read them.

  Don't disappear on us again! Glad you are back.

  jesus denies being God! scriptural discussion.

  i thought after recently reading the bible i would put up for disussion some recent scriptures up which for me show that jesus never viewed himself as god and anyone listening would also see it this way too.. first mark 10 :17-20.

  17as jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him.

  "good teacher," he asked, "what must i do to inherit eternal life?

  See the book Misquoting Jesus by Bart. D. Ehrman. The story behind who changed the Bible and why. How mistakes and changes shaped the Bible we read today.

  Scribes...wrote the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. Scribal errors were so common in antiquity...

  Scholars....used these thousands of manuscripts to establish the best text. Depending on which side of the aisle they sat on.

  Bible Translators...use their results to produce the modern translations we use today.

  I'm not convinced that the Bible of today is actually inspired of God. I am convinced that it is a work of men/women throughout historical times.

  Therefore I cannot have a scriptural discussion concerning who Jesus is.

  two seasons of the x files, and i'm hooked.

  i never watched it much when it was on tv because fox didn't come in very clear.

  there seems to be about 3 different formulas that the show uses, and they're all based on those formulas while chaning up names and places.

  Hi Galagirl! In his book, The Demon Haunted World, Science As A Candle In The Dark, Carl Sagan has a chapter called "The Fine Art Of Baloney Detection"

  In the course of their training scientists are equipped with a baloney detection kit. Whats in the kit? Tools for skeptical thinking. I recommend this book not only for this one chapter, the whole book is a learning process from a brillant scientific mind.

  Mary! Mary! Mary! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! You are a RIOT! I would like to see the look on their faces when they inadvertingly place your tract in the hands of the public. By all means tack them to the Kingdom Hall doors. Put them on the windshields of the cars parked at the meetings.

  I know it won't happen,but, it would be a stinger is it did.

  No, I tried to help as many as I could. I wanted others to live in paradise forever. I felt that time was short and did all I could to help others realize this.

  Now, no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I enjoy social activity with others, I live and let live.

  Time is short only as far as our life span goes, 70 or 80 years.

  I'm 63 and taking it one day at a time.
