i watched spartacus the other day and was reminded of every district convention drama i've ever seen; the style of music, the style of cheesy 'olden times' garb, the way men treat women, the corny dialogue, the way the 'loose' women were supposed to have dressed (they all wore fluoro nylon shifts apparently, with gold braid criss-crossing their cleavage just so), the melodrama, the righteousness... ah the fifties.. and yet, it was still the most interesting thing that happened for three days, at any dc..

she says since the end is so close, the brothers and sisters are wisely using their time pioneering.. i said, "they'd be better off going to college, getting an education".. her response: "a lot of good a college education will do them now.
nobody can keep a job".. .
I would take a look at the current yearbook and see if the numbers add up. Also talk is just that talk. The real pioneers have gone by the wayside.
My wife and I use to be in charge of the arrangements ( breakfast, lunch, late afternoon snacks ) for the pioneer school for about five years in the nineties. We would meet with them and eat at the lunch table with them and hear thier experiences and listen to some parts of the school back then.
Those were real pioneers back then, as for today, it's coffee, then more coffee, then more ways to kill time while putting in your time.
One may have the pioneer title, but, are they really searching for the deserving ones. I doubt it.
As one Elder who passed away use to tell me in his later years just before he died, "It's all a facade."

Hi Champion! Bill Haley and the comets played there years ago. Bill's picture is up on the wall as you come inside with his 45rpm record.
I, my son, and Bill Haley's son Scott Haley went there about 4 years ago. We sat with Paul Colby the owner, we were his guest. He has a book out called "The Bitter End".
I met him when he came to my office for a free hearing test. That's when I got his book also.
Later we went to The Bitter End as his guest. We were going to do a screen play about the bitter end and Paul Colby's life story, but it didn't pan out for us. We haven't been in contact with Paul since about two years now.
All the best to you and yours. Sorry that we can't make it to the show it would of been nice to meet you, your son and Paul again.

yes it was choke full of witnesses even the brother giving the public talk on sunday, so for a ma 15+ rating with lots of violent killings why were they there?
and sooooo friendly to us with the "love bombing" ......my wife sort of falls for it but i just want to chew my own foot off and run......i was the 007 legendary "love bomber" no one escaped my puppy dog eyes!
Years ago the Catholic Church had a list called "This Movie Is Condemned" and those were the movies we would go and see to find out why they were condemned.
The Watchtower has a similar list of movies that the friends should not go and see also. PG-13 is the old R rated movies.
According to the Watchtower standards, James Bond is a no no. Maybe if he was 777 instead of 007 it would be ok. 777 is the opposite of 666

?...she disagreed...how i dont know...but where is the evidence that jesus ever said the divine name in a prayer?!?!!??
Undercover, that was perfect!
Oompa! What about the term Abba Father! Jesus and his followers would call God "ABBA FATHER!" This is a term of endearment and trust when crying out to God for those followers of Jesus. The Watchtower fails to address this in that article.

the favorite bible story of jesus's forgiving the woman caught in adultery ( john 8: 3-11 ) doesn't belong in the bible.
to the careful reader, the story raises numerous questions.
if this women was caught in the act of adultery, for example, where is the man she was caught with?
Thanks Leolaia and The Lone Ranger.Leolaia, I have read many of your post topics and responses, evidently you are well read and do a lot of research. Again, these are stories that have been passed down by word of mouth. What is true and what is embellished? My question is, are they truly the words inspired by God to these first century Apostles, followers of Jesus or are they the words of men who actually heard and witnessed, then recorded from memory what they heard and saw.
The bottom line of what I am seeking is whether or not the Bible is a history book written by men or it is really God inspired. To me that is a life or death question.

Oompa! Isn't the endearing term, ABBA FATHER, used by those in a very close relationship with THE FATHER, mentioned in Romans by Paul. This would contradict what the society is teaching about what Jesus taught about OUR FATHER!

Blondie! We are happier for having escaped the Watchtower and studies like this one. Reading your comments has helped to confirm this.
You are the Houdini escape artist. You have helped many to escape from the Watcher because of your efforts like this one.
I know you don't want praise, that you do this work out of love. Still, we don't know how many have escaped the Watchtower because of having read "Comments You Will Not Hear."

The favorite Bible story of Jesus's forgiving the woman caught in adultery ( John 8: 3-11 ) doesn't belong in the Bible.
To the careful reader, the story raises numerous questions. If this women was caught in the act of adultery, for example, where is the man she was caught with? Both of them are to be stoned, according to the law of Moses ( see Lev. 20:10 )
Moreover, when Jesus wroye on the ground, what exactly was he writing? ( according to one ancient tradition, he was writing the sins of the accusers, who seeing their own transgressions were known, left in embarrassment! )
And even if Jesus did teach a message of love, did he really think that the law of God given by Moses was no longer in force and should not be obeyed? Did he think sins should not be punished at all?
As it turns out the story was not in the original Gospel of John. It was added by later scribes.
I found this in the book "Misquoting Jesus" The story behind who changed the Bible and why. Bart D, Ehrman. Is he to be believed? If he is ,it raises other questions about what Jesus is supposed to have said and done in the Gospel accounts.
Blueblades Who is still reading and searching for and against the inspiration of the Bible, that it is actually from God.
