What can the leadership at Watchtower do to turn things around?

let's play devils advocate here.. put yourself in the governing body's shoes.

they are well aware of all the issues they are facing.

they know their numbers (they 'do the math' as they say in the us).

They've already done it. It is now a social circle that would never have been allowed 15 years ago. Publishers and even pioneers taking pictures and making videos for Facebook and Instagram. Remember when we were counseled for even thinking of social media?

Kids are now regularly up on the platform having a "share" in the midweek meeting.

There is now a welcoming committee at the assemblies resembling most big churches

The R&F don't need any knowledge any more. Just direct interested ones to the website. Less printing means less pressure to keep up with the latest food and gave it realized you don't actually read the mags.

I honestly think this generation of kids coming up will be the staying put, its too easy of a religion because they really aren't teaching doctrine anymore.

A woman without a voice

this is my story in a nut-shell.

i hope some of you can relate.

if you can..i would love to hear from you.. i have been crushed and heartbroken more times than i can recount by a religion that claims to be based totally on love and mercy and most of that harm has come from the so called "shepherds" who or are supposed to lovingly take the stray lambs in their arms and lead them gently back to safety.

I'm slowly trying to fade. My immediate family shuns me even though I am not Df/DA. I am only fading because of my daughter who is totally torn.

I have been a single mom for all of her life and because of that was never included in any circle of the cliques. I was a nuisance to the elders and never once had a shepherding call.

They dont have the time to encourage but will certainly pounce when they believe you have done something wrong.

Is there anyway you could fade now?

As far as heeling, this religion has taught me to cut people out of my life on a moments notice. I have actually just started reconnecting with ones I grew up with that left before me. It has helped a lot and I know those relationships are unconditional.

Sorry you have been though all of this. But as a woman you are automatically a third rate witness anyway. Then if you aren't a pioneer its even worse.

I'm assuming since you came in as a teenager you have some family that is not in the org. Do you still associate with them?

JC letter of invitation. Do they always get signed?

i was just shown a jc letter from a friend and i noticed that the bottom of it was signed by tree elders.

the letter specifically stated that it was an invitation to a "judicial committee" due to the brother having a marital relationship that was not aligned with bible principles.. i am asking because i remember reading experiences of brothers who demanded their jc be arranged over certified mail with signed letters to which elders refused to do.

since they could not get this done the matter was dropped and no dfing ever happened.

Pioneer Elder Still in Jail (follow up report)

confirmed by a family friend and elder who lives in the area!

he was a pioneer elder in a port st lucie (river view congregation) fl, convention and assembly speaker, a"shining star" of the circuit and had served at bethel for several years.

was sexually abusing his step daughter from age 8 to 12. his wife has divorced him and moved back to tennessee.

The worst part is, even if they take a plea bargain or confess in court, if they tell the elders they didnt do it no "judicial" action can be taken. At least that happened in a case 10 years ago in my Cong.

Uber Cart Witnessing at the State Fair

last thursday i bunch of us working decided we were going to head down to the state fair and badge our way in to get a fletcher's corny dog for lunch.

we had to go to a specific gate to park and show our credentials to get in.

this meant driving halfway around the perimeter of the entire fairgrounds.

but it's true, when i was a young boy i had to go to the 5 weekly meetings.

also with my mum we would be at the doors and actually have debates.

It's also a "photo op" religion now. "What cute pose can we do and post today?" I wonder if they count their time while they perfect their jumping shot.

(he's on the bottom row, second from the right.).

but he also is a jazz singer, traveling constantly performing at concerts, casinos, charity events, even a brief appearance on the tonight show.
