Biblical Prohecies That Came True?
by Viviane inrecently there have been several claims made regarding prophecies that came true.
i've not personally seen a prophecy that i would consider as having come true.
i would consider the following as the requirements to say something is a prophecy and evaluate whether or not it came true:.

GMJALT, specifically, outside of the temple conversation which I'll address momentarily, which prophecies came true?
In the case of the temple, it had been destroyed by invasion before, Jerusalem was currently occupied and there was a general spirit of belief in apocalypse, judgement and coming destruction for both Jew and Gentile. What specific knowledge was required to predict an event that had happened before under similiar circumstances? Why wasn't Jesus specific on who would do it and exactly when?

Do You Think The Islamic State Will Launch An Attack On US Soil In The Near Future?
by minimus ini think so.
they rejoice over celebrating the 9/11 attacks..

I truly believe The Muslim Brotherhood thru CAIR has inflitrated this country and also this WH Administration. It's only a matter of time before something bad happens. And IMO the Muslim in Chief has allowed this country to be in danger of 9/11 type attacks.
Fortunately you aren't in charge of anything.

Recently there have been several claims made regarding prophecies that came true. I've not personally seen a prophecy that I would consider as having come true. I would consider the following as the requirements to say something is a prophecy and evaluate whether or not it came true:
1. Specific details for what will happen
2. Specific dates for what will happen
3. Special knowledge required (i.e., it doesn't take special knowledge to predict something will happen when it has happened before and the circumstances are similiar or to simply describe what is happening and say "more of this will happen")
4. The event happened EXACTLY as predicted
The other side of that, also, are failed prophecies. If someone made a failed prophecy, should we look at other prophecies they made as guesses or special knowledge from God?
Do you think any prophecies specifically and accurately came true? If so, why?

I get treated horribly by my ex
"Ex" being the key word here ... why are they treating you any particular way at all?
And I'm still paying the consequences of failing at being a Witness.
That's like failing at being a jerk.

Theists make grandiose knowledge claims about god until they are asked a difficult question.
Or an extremely simple one, like "What is spirit made of?"

No, God uses suffering to develop comapssion in humans. God did NOT create the tsunami and does NOT interfere in the natural events of this world and earthquakes and natural disaters are part of this natural world. The laws of nature of this world are what they are.
How, specifically, does any compassion built outweigh the deaths? If God is omni-whole, why did he have to use death, 250K of them? Why would he stand idly by and let these deaths occur and not simply allow death from old age to build compassion, or skinned knees? How can you claim God did NOT create the tsunami when he created the universe, the rules and knows everything, including that the tsunami would happen?
You MAY be right, maybe He doesn't care all that much, OR maybe He cares in such a different way that it doesn't register on our level OR maybe He cares enough to give up all that He was, become one of Us, live like Us, suffere like Us and die like Us so that we may know Him not as some being beyond Us but as someome willing to give up ALL for Us.
How can you make all of these claims of love and compassion and then basically say God may not even care?
The second part of that response is "It's a mystery" and that has already been dealt with.
I know that we want God to fix things, to interfer when natural disaters happen, that we can't put our minds arouns why IF He can do something, why doesn't he and that is why I always start by asking the person asking the question like you did, is there any answer to that question that you will accept? Most are quite honest and say, NO.
That can't be an honest answer, it presumes they know every possible answer, something we can't logically know if even know or not. You are asking them to be omniscient regarding any possible answer and that simply is not possible. The question is invalid on it's face with no further qualification required.
A much better question would "Why are the current answers so logically invalid and unsatisfying?"

Why was such a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT thing as Internet not foretold in the Bible?
by Pinku injws claim that even such a small thing as proclaiming 1986 as the international year for peace was foretold in the bible.
this raises the question: why was such a great thing as internet (the influence of which could not even be compared with anything in the history at all) not foretold in the bible?
with internet and tv the world has become literally a global village!.

It sorta did:
The Bible in no way predicted the Holocaust.
Everything Jesus Christ said would happen, is really happening.
Name one specific thing Jesus specifically predicted that required special foreknowledge AND came true.

People Believe Jehovah Is A God Of Love Because He Is A Bully
by frankiespeakin inyes the god of the bible has done his share of being a murderous bully(according to the mythology found in the book), his holly motto seems to be through out: "do what i say or i will kill you".
of coarse cringing christian's because of their fear of the deity will proclaim that all these acts of slaughter that the bible ascribes to god as an act of love, and chime in with approval and superlatives when 1john 4:8* is read.
and i atribute it mainly to god being a bully in the bible and threatening to kill every one not having faith in him.. 8 l anyone who does not love does not know god, because m god is love.. .

What should he do instead...what do you think would be the best way to keep order?
If he makes people obey the rules, he's a bully. If he lets everyone exercise their free will, there's chaos.
According to the Bible, he kills AND can't keep order. He's a bully and one that can't even get what he wants.

Jesus as a Ransom for Humans or not
by fulltimestudent ini have not got an answer (theoretical or not) to the above question.. but the main text book (introducing the new testament- its literature and theology - achtemeier, green and thompson) for my study unit (early christian literature and thought) in the assigned reading for today's lecture on the gospel of john, has a section on the ransom.
it says (p. 237): one of the few passages that explicitly speaks of jesus dying for others is mark 10:45:.
"for even the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.. .

But we have 2 witnesses of the fact he is true.
Who, specifically?
