i hope you're all doing well.. i haven't written for a while, my previous screen name was objectivetruth btw.

i look forward to resuming some good conversations with my jw.com family.. i haven't been active much of late, however a topic that i have continued to consider & study is modern day israel & the early watchtower's teachings on this topic.. this is part 1 - i'll post multiple posts, to help readers follow my train of thought.. first i'll cover the teachings and overall belief's of the watchtower on the jew's , israel, and god's plan for the jew's.. i've read a lot of the early publications.

How do you interpret / View these Scriptures

I don't interpret them. I simply look at them and ask "Did this happen exactly as described with specific details?"

The answer is no. The U.N. created the nation of Israel as it exists today, not god. It's a secular nation, not a theocracy as the bible indicates it would be. Zion in labor is not in any way a description of Jews declaring independence, a 24 hour day is not a moment. All of that is simply YOU trying to layer your specific interpretation of vague and poetic language onto specific events. Nothing more.

If you still place any trust in the Bible, I'm interested to hear your views on these scriptures, If not, I can show you some other occurrences, that I view as proofs.

You viewing something as proof doesn't make it actual proof. I would advise you to read the scriptures, the prophecies purely as written and then attempt to determine if, without your knowledge of history, if there is anyway you could possibly have predicted specifically the events you claim match.

If not, it's not actually prophecy then, is it?

The Ra-gathering of the Jew's to Israel in the Years of 1917,1948,1967 , is in my View an Undeniable Miracle & Fulfillment of many Hebrew Scripture prophecies, These fulfillment's are Unlike,shaky and haphazard Watchtower Prophecies, rather they are Easy to See,Understand, and Prove. They are Backed by History,Exact Dates,Signs in the Sun & Moon & Stars, (Luke 21:25) ,Botanical Proofs, and Several Other clear Proofs.

No, they aren't backed by anything. This is just more woo with people seeing what they want to see and misunderstanding the word "proof".

ok bible scholars, do i have this right?.

jehoopla promised the israelites lots of great stuff in the promised land, but they didn't believe him so they sent spies to check it out.

they came back with fruit so large it had to be carried on a branch by 2 men.. from this, dubs believe they are going to have strawberries the size of king king's skull when they get to their own promised land (the new system).

Atheist Miracles

i reworded a variation of a common critique of atheists to my own liking.

no, i do not hate atheists, i love them!

My opinion is that they are fully immersed in living, but say "No, i am convinced there is no creator, and there is no "(yet") likely.

When you insist on telling people what their opinion is...

pinning down some atheist's convictions is like trying to nail pudding to the wall, So I am not waiting for an 'atheist's miracle' to be proved wrong on that.

... rather than letting them speak for themselves, I can see why you would have trouble understanding.

IMHO if you daily look at the grand spectacle of existence, AND the more you know about how it all works, the work involved, the more you could at least put a "possible" in the concept of a deist originating worker.

Once you decide evidence isn't going to be used, anything becomes "possible". What does that have to do with you not understanding what atheist think while simultaneously trying to claim what they think?

i guess i naively thought the value of doing to others as you want them to do to you was generally accepted as positive.. i understand people have different opinions of jesus as a person but i don't want to get into that here.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you is a rule of conduct, not action. It doesn't pertain to offering people food or things you like. It is more a reverse idea, as Buddhism teaches

In his paper "Variations on the Golden Rule" (downloadable here), Frank Harary lists a number of variations of the golden rule found throughout the world. Some cool ones are:

When the topic is "variations of the golden rule", then that will be relevant.

As it stands, the golden rule is the rule of an uncaring, unthinking person. It's better to simply ask, which, interestingly, the golden rule does not prescribe but is exactly what I suggested in the second sentence of my first post on this topic.
