  Donating Blood

  ask the next jw you encounter or who happens to showsup at your door, whether or not it is permissible , because of the new light regarding blood fractons, for jehovah's witnesses to donate blood so long as they specify in writing that their blood be spun down into fractions before it is used for medical purposes.. i did.....it's interesting to watch their eyes glaze over.. i'm thinking of calling bethel and asking the same question..

  Occasionally, a doctor will urge a patient to deposit his own blood weeks before surgery (preoperative autologous blood donation, or PAD) so that if the need arises, he could transfuse the patient with his own stored blood. However, such collecting, storing, and transfusing of blood directly contradicts what is said in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Blood is not to be stored; it is to be poured out—returned to God, as it were. Granted, the Mosaic Law is not in force now. Nevertheless, Jehovah’s Witnesses respect the principles God included in it, and they are determined to ‘abstain from blood.’ Hence, we do not donate blood, nor do we store for transfusion our blood that should be ‘poured out.’ That practice conflicts with God’s law.

  An yet they will accept fractions of blood that was drawn out of someone's arm, stored, separated and stored again and all the while beleive they are abstaining from blood.

  They let someone else donate blood (supposedly breakig Gods law) but accept fractions of that blood and let the donor take the fall for having donated it.

  good question, but i can't add a reply to your op.. my statement would be this - "if your governing body is god's direct channel of communication on earth, why did god use babylon the great to reveal a 'new light' to let you all know that the 'evil slave' isn't real, it's "hypothetical"?.

  after which, the wtbts plagiarised the idea and presented it as a "new understanding/clarification" in their watchtower magazine.. please read the net bible at matthew 24:48, then read the footnote.

  Learning Spanish

  has anyone used rosetta stone for learning a language?

  now that i'm living in sw florida i deal with a lot of spanish speaking people and would love to learn the basics.

  my problem is that there are so many different levels with rosetta stone, starting about $100.00 to over $300.00.. any advice would be appreciated.. happydad.

  Every once in a while I feel that way too but I put it down to just being human rather than having to do with anything I believe or beleived about the JW's.

  Nations attack and destroy Babylon the Great.

  To JW's...isn't that a good thing ?? How nice of Satan's minions to get rid of all those other nasty religions, that is, until they come looking for the religion you happen to be in.....then it's bad thing. You'd think Satan would want to strengthen his empire rather than turn on it. Seems like his first order of business would be to build up his own organization and get rid of the one God supposedly favors.

  Attack on Jehovah's people.... and who might that be ? Let me guess, judging from the preachy tone of your comment, I'd say you have concluded that you are one of them and the rest of us aren't...am I right ?

  Remember this,.... meditate on it,... we will begin to see signs of this VERY, VERY soon, ...but you must be watchful.... especially as #3 begins, you'll have to CHOOSE at that time, who you will follow... OK....I think I'll wait a while.....that way I'm sure to pick the right team.

  God Speed to you all... What does that even mean ? It sounds nice enough....God Speed...but based on you comments so far I'd say your motives are based more in sense of smugness than out of any concern for our welfare or even for your love of God.

  Men's hair

  many of my church leaders have inisisted that short hair for men is a strict scriptural doctrine, and not to be argued against.

  what do people think?.

  If it's wrong for men to have long hair, then it seems it must be wrong for women to have short hair. Some women in the congregation cut their hair as short as a mans typical haircut even though 1 Corinthians 11:15 says here hair is a covering and a glory. There is never anything said about it as far as I know. There's only a problem if a brother's hair gets even slightly long touching his ears and collar. The same uptight folks who can't stand beards moustaches or modern music, come unglued.

  What I really hate....

  is that i was born into this cult, taught and believed that i was going to live forever, , that i was never going to have to die.

  now i am in my mid 30's realizing that this life is all there is and that after that i am dead forever and i am terrified.

  i don't want this to be all there is, , i don't want to just live a few years on this beautiful planet and then become non existent forever!

  If you have a glass of wine and your symptoms are relieved or dissappear, you most likely have anxiety not heart problems. Same goes with physical activity such as exercise, if these things help you feel better, it's most likely anxiety.

  It's unlikely at your age and after having being checked thoroughly a year a go, that you could have developed a serious heart condition. If you are determined not to visit a doctor, (not a good idea) you can take your own pulse and you can check your blood pressure at the pharmacy. Do a Google search to see what your readings should be.

  Like the rest of us, you are having to come to grips with your own mortality all at once instead of little by little over your lifetime like everyone else in the world does . You havent developed the coping skills for this because like a drug addict, your religious beliefs numbed you from the reality you wanted to avoid. Trust me, you will come to terms with it and it will be a releif not to have the issue of eternal life and whether you deserve it or not, hanging over you. If I can do it, so can you . A few years ago I suffered terribly and would never have beleived I could have progressed this far so fast. I wish I'd have seen this forum during that time, much of my suffering would have been eliminated.

  Our feelings are caused by thoughts and our feelings are only as real as we let them be. Right now I want you to just trust that in time you will be able to handle the unpleasant sensations of anxiety. Don't run from them...turn and face them and the Lion that they seem like now, will shrink down to the size of a mouse.
