  Rumor: New light comes from outside marketing consultants

  this is a rumor i heard back in november, it comes to me third or fourth-hand.

  feel free to poke holes.

  i have many doubts about this myself.

  How many here (believers) believe in the Hell fire doctrine and why??

  it's obvious the bible is very clear on a actual hell of fire.

  "cursed into the eternal fire with the devil and his angels", rev.20:15.

  "lake of fire", rev.21:8 "fire and brimstone".

  Where the hell is hell? If its a literal place I want to visit and like god , watch those miserable , wicked, contemptuous nasty , horrible aithiest sinners ...BURN . I wonder if god will let me wear ear defenders to lessen the audible screams of agony as they beg god to help and forgive them for not recognising what a loving god he really is HA HA I SAY LET THEM ROAST!!!

  Able;....As I've said before who said what jesus said? Those who are reputed to have known what jesus said in all probability got it at least 2nd or 3rd hand.

  How can these reports be verified?throughout the copying of the bible with all its additions subtractions and omissions through the centuries , how could anyone say with an ounce of certainty that they know CORRECTLY and INDISPUTABLY what jesus said.

  To base your convictions on such a non evidential premise is bordering on stupidity

  To judge others on the same premise is foolishness and should be ignored by balanced reasoned individuals.

  Perry what honorable judge do you know of who would ALLOW evil if they hsd the power to stop it.

  Gratification is satisfaction try the dictionary.

  As I say NO wriggle room on that one.

  If you allow evil havinf the power to stop it then the judgmental punishment you inflict can ONLY be for your gratification.

  Perry you contradict yourself. You claim god allows evil and there will be a judgement from god. If as predicted in scripture many will take the wrong path , if you believe these words are gods inspiration and he knows many will fail (willingly) he would HAVE to be gratified that his judgment of them was fulfilled by his punishment, otherwise what would be the point of his actions if not for gratification, in other words his satisfaction of his prophetic words coming to pass.

  There is no wriggle room on that one.

  And by the way has god appointed you to be his mouthpiece.

  Hi perry by your reasoning god must be like a father who allows his child to do something wicked for the gratification of punishing him.

  i use the word clinging, as i feel that is what i am doing.

  as far as my knowledge of science, namely chemistry is concerned, i am satisfied there is evidence of a creator.

  i am happy to believe this.

  Hi Kate may I pose a question? Without this forum or the responses on which you have come to a cconclusion; what would your own conclusion be?

  Many people base their conclusions/beliefs if you like on what others opinions are eg those who accept the bible as gods word because of the opinions therein

  Personally I still find a perplexity in your reasoning as it seems to require what others offer as an answer .

  The human brain has the capacity to create wonderful things for our benefit , likewise it also has the ability to conjure terror.

  Which camp we wish to belong to is down to each individual.

  Influence in our childhood can have a great bearing on our decisions

  The reason we would believe in horrific torture may have been inculcated from infancy by similarly influenced adults who have held onto these beliefs mainly through fear of their perceived judgemental god.

  Imo if a person comes to a belief that there is a literal hellfire in adulthood they need to seriously question their sanity.

  true believers, whether christian, muslim or whatever, want to convert you, they want you to believe what they do, and they're willing to go to extremes to make it happen.

  Athiest?yep I get that, but TRUE believer?.exactly what is a true believer?.

  Is it someone who believes in truth? Any takers who can explain the true belief without saying ' just because I want to believe'because there is absolutely NO truth ie something which is true without evidentially confirming it, otherwise its fanciful guesswork.

  In my humble opinion of course.

  Remember;..the truth shall set you free..now where have I heard that before..Mnnnnnnnnn
