i've been a fan of anthony robbins (self help guru) and read a couple of his books, but i strongly recomend the tapes "lessons in mastery.

I've been a fan of Anthony Robbins (self help guru) and read a couple of his books, but I strongly recomend the tapes "Lessons in Mastery." I just got it today.
It is brilliant!
He really teaches you to love and respect yourself.
SOOOO different from the borg.
In the borg, we were constantly told how were weren't doing enough. That we weren't worthy.
How different from Jesus teaching that even our hairs are numbered.
How different it is when we can be motivate from the inside for our own well being - rather than using guilt motivations.

hahahaha, your microphone post reminded me of another pet peeve.
The singing, when peope used to sing in like a different octave than everyone else.
Either that, or when they hold the note like 2 beats longer than everyone else.

How would you explain jws to a non-jw?
by Gadget inin the past, when i've been talking about being a witness they haven't really understood just how much of an impact it has on your life unless they've been one too.
whats the best way to explain it to someone who has never been a witness and had little contact with them?
i'm more thinking of how much control there is over your life, and the reason why a lot of witnesses feel down and suffer from depression, ect.. gadget

At first, I was thinking about an analogy of a bad parent.
But that's not as an effective example.
The better analogy would be that of a sham marriage.
You date, you get engaged.
Then you get married.
But along the way, you find out that your wife never loved you.
In fact, not only that - but she has been using you for your money all along.
Since the begining, she married you and has been stealing your money and funneling into her boyfriend.
See our pain now???
See how difficult this is to accept???
Here you gave your life and blood to this marriage - and it was a sham all along.
The ones that stay in the borg, are no different than the ones refuse to see the truth.
The ones that do see - are devistated.

I know Mickey well - as I do several other "worldly prominent" JDubs including Prince and Larry Graham.
I like Mickey. He is "up to speed" as far as being a JDub. But I tell you, I feel more sorry for him - because of what he has to go through.
To be in good standing, you need to be living in a trailer park. Mickey lives in a mansion.
