although i never met him personally, he and i did correspond a number of times, and i have numerous friends who have not only met him, but stayed several days with he and cynthia at their home.

if nothing else, ray was kind, non-judging, and generous.

I agree with Farkel, the Governing Body knows all the lies and dirty little secrets. However, instead of being clean, upfront, honest and open they have as a group and as individuals made a choice to add more lies and twisted truths to hide their wretched deceit.

They are an oppressive regime peddling empty promises, and no matter how pretty the pictures of smiling fruit pickers in paradise may be, the conniving leaders truely are like whitewashed graves, a grand exterior hiding corruption and decay.

They are not victims. They know their policies and doctrines have done grievous harm, even bringing death to some, and yet thier mindset remains aloof and condescending.

The sly and slimy Watchtower leaders continue to trumpet a grandiose image of themselves at full blast, but their real legacy will always been found in the utterly wasted lives of their blind and broken followers.

Hi, thanks for the answers so far, I get the feeling that you ladies like gifts that make you feel so special. Maybe it's more in the giving than the gift itself. What do you think? I guess even doing chores around the house can say I love you. Being together because that's where you want to be, no matter what you are doing.

Funny, when you're dating someone, just spending time together cleaning the garage can be fun and special, even romantic. What happens with the passing of time? How can we rekindle those feelings?

I think I'm going to get a sweet little necklace custom crafted by an artist friend of mine and then hide it. Then I'll give Janice a bunch of clues to find it, sort of a like a treasure hunt. Along the way she'll find notes that say things like "this entitles you to a head to toe massage whenever you want it" or "dinner and a movie, your choice".

It seems that fun and surprise are a big part of being romantic. Am I right?

i asked 2 elders on seperate occasions (because i'm careful) - the following scenario:.

a man comes to the elders and asks if he can take blood fractions for clotting since he is a bleeder.

the elders tell him it's up to his conscience.

Someone can donate blood and a JW can benefit BUT can a JW donate blood to help another person out???

And, I thought they believed that once blood left the body it should be poured onto the ground. So How do those witlesses get their fractions, with a spade?

once again my wife and i were sent the " witness only " wt version by our lurking jw friend that they study at wt study meetings.

and once again wt society is showing very controlling tendencies towards it's jw members.. do any of you remember the " old days " in the 1970's or early 1980's when witnesses used to have goody night after book study ?

or you would have a " potluck picnic " with about 30 to 40 people getting to know one another to draw close as friends outside the confines of the kingdom hall ?

i would be happy to see your answers to any of these questions.. remember, the inspired apostle peter gave this direction in the holy scriptures: "always [be] ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason for the hope in you, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect.

" (1st peter 3:15).

sunday evening there were a group of sisters talking on their walk back to the carpark.

"so if the generation just means that your life overlapped with people who were around in 1914, couldn't that just go on forever?".

""i guess...." (looked at each other confused, then at me as i walked past).. to which i said: "oh yes, remember the days when the generation was a simple 70 years from 1914?".
