I am sorry, its early morning here in Texas and I am barely beginning to get the caffeine kick. I fail to see in the article where a change is pointed to. Seems to me that is actually the very opposite. Can someone "enlighten me"? -

Are they trying to make me feel like crap?
by StarTrekAngel inso i have not reported a single hour of fs or family worship in over 8 months.
have not given a single comment in a meeting for over a year.
a few weeks ago, my brother in law, who is an ms now, approached me.

So the week of the said assignment is here. I finally decided that I don't want do it. I told my wife today (since her and my oldest daughter are supposed to be in it as well) and at first she said it was ok, that she would do it with my daughter. I said that I did not think it was possible but then I realized that my real problem is that I do not agree to present this as a spiritually speaking mono parental house. I told her that I felt they wanted me to look like a hypocrite in front of my family. She was somewhat receptive to my feelings and politely asked me why I don't just talk to them. She suggested that I tell them straight out that I am having doubts and I would like to quit the MS until I work on it. Obviously, that sounds phenomenal at first look. I told her that I thought it was a great suggestion, especially if we both be in agreement but I also pointed out that wether we like or not, such statement would open up pandora's box and that eventually an elder would come around inquiring of me.
I definitely feel strongly towards this opportunity of dropping out of the MS but I would have preferred to do so under different reasons. I have a bit of a situation here because...
- Mother in law lives with us and if this evolves into something worst she may choose to move out. I know this could also be ideal but she really helps us with our kids while my wife works. If it wasn't for her, we would have to get a day care, forcing my wife to work just to dump all her pay into the system. We really can't afford that right now.
- Mother in law sleeps with the kids most nights and she tends to answer their questions when we are not listening (bed time). Sometimes the kids asks and I could actively answer them before she does but at the same time she has the tendency to answer questions that have not been asked, if you know what I mean.
- In the other hand, eventually word will spread around and I know a couple of sisters that love to stab in the back. They will probably begin treating my children as spiritual orphans.
- In the short term, I am afraid that someone will try to replace me in this assignment. The theme is about Jehovahs advice for children and a father figure is almost mandatory in such scenario. I warned my wife that if they do that I am going to be utterly pissed. She doesn't seem to think such would happen but I've had a couple of situation where elders have jumped the gun on me in order to get their nose into family affairs.
In the short term, I see it as a good thing. My only idea right now is to make the whole thing as confusing as possible for the elders so that they will think twice before approaching me with their "shepherding". In the long term, I know that the questioning will eventually become greater and greater. In your opinion, would it be difficult to maintain an environment where they stay away from me while sparing my family of their harmful counsel towards me?

AUSTRALIA - All large JW Regional Conventions cancelled for 2015
by jwleaks innow we know why the governing body of jehovah's witnesses cancelled all the major regional conventions of jehovah's witnesses for 2015 and are only holding smaller conventions at the jw assembly halls.
"imitate jesus" convention series australia schedule .
interestingly the first round of regional conventions are due this weekend in the jw assembly halls in sydney (new south wales), melbourne (victoria), and brisbane (queensland).

And with all these coverage of the RC, why would it matter if the assemblies are large or not? Would you not expect media coverage at any of the conventions? I'd be disappointed if they did not cover it. -

The Assyrian started to attack from Australia
by opusdei1972 inthe gb has been preparing the flock for the assyrian's attack, that now is starting from australia:.
elders, you can learn some helpful lessons from what we have just discussed: (1) the best thing you can do to prepare for the future attack of the assyrian is to strengthen your faith in god and help your brothers to do the same.
(2) when the assyrian attacks, you must be completely convinced that jehovah will save us.

If they spin this as the beginning of the GT, is very likely to succeed. (My bet as I've posted before is that this is the very reason they changed the teaching on Gog of Magog). However, I don't think it will succeed as it did in 75. No prophetic numbers to show for. People love the mystery behind prophetic numbers. I think the major success will not come from an increase in membership. In fact, they should count their blessings if it helps them keep their numbers stable. I think success of such a spin off would come in the way of "donate more without question" because Jehovah's work is accelerating and we need all the help we can get. I think they will be more able than ever to push the loyal ones to "get out of the world" and "simplify their lives" so they can dedicate more time to the org. Serve in another country where growth is happening as it is. And much more. -

I think we can expect even broader news coverage after the hearing is over. Right now everything is regarded as "allegations". It is now that the evidence is being presented. Any rational news outlet will limit itself to report that the hearing is ongoing at this stage. If anything meaningful comes out of this hearing, I am pretty sure it will receive wider exposure.
I doubt the US will see a hearing like this one any time soon, we are just too conservative to admit our faults. I think it will happen eventually but judging on past history, it will have to involve an abuse case taken all the way to the supreme court for anything these significant to happen.

Could this news cause a new revolt of members taking the lead like that which happened after the 1975 fiasco?
by opusdei1972 inwe know that after the 1975 fiasco there were some revolts and disappointments in the brotherhood, which finally caused the removal of raymond franz and overseers like james penton, and so on.
so, may be these news could cause the revolt of some members in the leadership.
any thoughts?

I think another 1975 is overdue... is this it? I am not sure but for certain, it does not seem far fetched that this time, rather than making another prediction, they would make much broader statement to drive the flock to feel the attack of Gog of Magog has started. Once it settles and the money has been secured, the flock would have no one to blame but themselves, for no direct instructions from the FDS were communicated or affirmed on such attack. -

Why are none of the 'Governing Body' being summoned to any of the abuse commissions?
by GodZoo ini'm not sure if this has been covered but i'm wondering why none of the gb are being requested at or formally summoned to any of the australian abuse commissions or other investigations that are taking place around the world?
they after all are the ones single handedly responsible for making and enforcing all the rules that are the sole cause of all these abuses and problems.. why are they just keeping their silent distance and leaving all the ill-equipped and sadly incompetent local elders exposed to take the full public blast, criticism and humiliation for all that is now being brought out in these investigations?
how are they seemingly able to sit cosy in their ivory tower immune and unaccountable?.

StarTrekAngel
There is probably some corporate arrangement that covers them from responding directly. You may see the top Australian officials of the Australian branch being called in. I am not sure what it would take but for sure there is a way to get the GB there. It may just take an act of government or some sort of judicial proceeding in order to get them to show up. -

Did the Governing Body sucessfully fend off this bad news on thier TV Broadcast??
by Wasanelder Once inremember there was a talk about not listening to "false stories" about sexual abuse from apostates on jw's fantasy station?
did the governing body put it out there as preemptive damage control because they knew this was coming?
they must have had subpoenas giving them a heads up.

Yeap, there is no doubt that some will never quit believing. Even today there are some Branch Davidians that still live in or near the compound in Waco
