(my apologies if this was already discussed somewhere else.).

i noticed that the domain www.mt2414.com was taken, and when i tested it, it was a mirror of the log in portion of the www.jw.org site, where you can look up assemblies, kingdom halls, and make either one time or recurring donations.

so i created an account there (you can use fake form information as long as it's a real email address for email verification).

What I find myself wondering more is why would they want to snatch such domain name? What value can it have? May be I am missing the obvious here.

This might well be part of the mechanics of evolution. There is no doubt there is social evolution just as much as there is biological evolution. If you can find a way to reconcile both, then you have an even more complex mechanism by which we decide the faith of humanity one little action at a time.

Off course the above assumes that the extent to which epigenetic plays a role is a fact, but the idea is not far fetched.

the cognitive dissonance amongst jws has never been more obvious to me then what i just experience in the last 5 min.

long story short i had a phone conversation w/my mom about some things and i mentioned to her to look up what has been going on with their beloved organization in australia.

brother geoffrey jackson of the holy governing body was caught lying numerous times about several subjects including disassociations & shunning.

I was having a discussion with some self proclaimed JWs over at jw-archive this past week. I found it interesting that this person was well aware of all the bad rap given to JWs regarding their cultish behavior and its foundations. One of them being cognitive dissonance. He or she is convinced that the term is misapplied and that is a matter of perspective. In her or his view, we are the ones suffering the dissonance.

That is very good information. I became aware of the science of epigenetics a couple of years ago. I started researching in alternative medicine and fitness. Turns out there is a good amount of doctors and scientists that have been pointing to this as evidence that we are indeed what we eat and what we do or feel. Made me wonder about the whole understanding people had during biblical times regarding the sins of their fathers coming to get them later. I also became very aware of the role hormones play in our everyday life. No matter if you are male or female. The exciting part about this is the potential it has for reversing those pesky deceases that we get from our parents. Cancer, diabetes, etc. I doubt it though, that the medical field is going to invest the time and money this field deserves. There is no money in taking care of people. Modern medicine does not cure root causes, it manages symptoms.

those of you more able to recall the text, i ask: how many doctrines did ray franz expose / comment on in crisis of conscience have been done away with due to "new light"?

i think it would be interesting to see if ray called bs on doctrines that were later changed because the governing body also realized they were bs.

I don't think any of them have actually become new light in the fashion that Ray Franz would have liked. By that I mean that no one can go back and say that he needs to be re instated postmortem. The generation teaching has not been done away with, just changed into the overlapping generation. So if anything, it got worst.

so far in more recent times they have only been called to take the witness stand in court twice to my knowledge one was a no show in defiance to a court order in which he gave a sworn false statement to the courts claiming austrian citizenship.

and the other jackson who gave a terrible witness to the court full of lies and misleading statements.

all this shows how damaging their testimony is when brought before authorities who demand answers for their behavor and policies.. i personal hope for that day to come and have a gut feeling that we will be seeing a lot more of these guys called to court to explain their actions and impose big settlements over their not living up to their fiduciary duty toward children who have been molested by ministers(elders,ms, co, branch personal) they have appointed.

Is possible but unlikely. Unless someone can explain whatever I am missing, I believe that in the case of Jose Lopez, they made a mistake that could have costed Zalkin quite a bit. You just don't serve an order for a GB member to show up to the wrong corporation. The WTBTS is a publishing company and Losch does not work for IT. You either serve him directly or you serve the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses or whatever other corporation where he is a named representative. Did I miss something?

While is still morally wrong, legally, he did not break any rules.

I personally think Russia has the heart in the right place (when it comes to the JWs in this case) except that their execution does nothing to protect the Russian people from this form of "extremism". It only drives it further. I understand what they mean to do, is just not the right plan of action.
