need input: why does my wife do this. when at the meeting she is always nodding her head in agreement
by goingthruthemotions inso this is just so nauseating to me when she noddes her head in agreement and in a low voice or sound does a "mmm uh" in agrrement.
but here is the deal, she never aswers at the meetings.
she doesn't go out in service often.

My wife does the same thing. It annoyed me at first but I payed closer attention and realized she only nodded at the things that actually matter. Regardless of our differences, I would not get annoyed if she does it when someone says "God is love". I realized she was agreeing with the statement, not with is misuse to manipulate people. Off course she does not see it any other way but at least she is not nodding in agreement when they talk about 1914. In fact, she has admitted before the she does not understand it. -

How bad do the JWs need to be doing financially
by cognac inbefore they just go ahead and file chapter 7 or 11?

I don't think that is entirely that impossible. I think that filling for bankruptcy would be a very bad move for them. Any move that seem voluntary and initiated from within would be harder to justify in front of the R&F. Not that they won't be able to justify successfully, I say its just harder when there are other options. Everyone donating $1 a month. I find that hard to achieve. Not everyone in the world can afford to donate a dollar a month, much less for the foreseeable future. There is only about 1 million JWs in the US. With that said, they probably would not take all of that money in and put it directly into cashflow. Most likely invested in some form of another, which means they would have to wait on the return to start coming in
Assuming all of the above is accurate to some degree, a re definition, re organization, re branding will be most likely and much more acceptable to the majority of the members.
If they haven't figured it out by now, asking everyone to pay a "membership fee" in order to get baptized could be much more easily swallowed than tithing or anything that pushes compulsory donations down and directly to the members. Provided that they crunch the numbers, it could almost work as a group insurance, where we all pay a fee, just in case one of the members slips and rapes a child.

WiFi problems? Want a faster network? Try Powerline Adapters!
by Simon inwifi is great.
it's so easy and convenient.
but it can be slow.. years ago when it first came out you maybe had a pc and a couple of other devices at most.

Powerline ethernet has been around for a while. There has been attempts to make use of the standard to actually distribute internet traffic thru the power grid to home and businesses. As with every potentially disruptive technology, the big players found a way to shelf the idea. It has come a long way now compared to then (about 2005 was when we first experimented with them). It used to have very weak encryption and the signal could leak thru meters to the next house or apartment. -

Is their model of operation at HQ. One way or another the same model will be present at the lower levels of the pyramid. -

This is where sometimes we fail to see that this was never about the bible. The bible is just a tool. Is read and applied when convenient to the org. When is not, the bible is out the window and the headership principle no longer applies. When you are a spiritual man, you must affirm your place as the head of the house... in other words, you are responsible for heading the indoctrination train. If you are out, you spouse in spiritual danger and she must ignore your advice because it goes against the holy teachings. -

About tithing. Why would they ever do that if what they are getting from the cong now is over 10% off all the funds available?

Daniel 12:4 Knowledge shall increase in the End Times
by James Mixon ini don't recall in jw land they use this verse to prove the end is near.. my question, what is this knowledge?.
it's a great verse to cover their butts, the light is getting brighter.

And the knowledge is "new light". We know more about the bible now than ever before. It was just another scam as usual -

It was used when the Daniel book was part of the congregation book study. They have since quit releasing books about prophets. -

Jehovahs Witnesses and the Name , HOW Important. ?
by smiddy injehovah`s witnesses place great emphasis on the importance of god`s name as jehovah .so much so that they are often accused by christendom`s religions as substituting jehovah for christ.. the old testament ( hebrew scriptures identify god as the tetragrammaton four hebrew consanants yhwh and not jhvh.
as mistakenly believed by a 13th century spanish monk .. modern scholars including the j.w.`s agree that the more accurate pronunciation of gods name would be more nearer to yahweh than the name jehovah .. so why do j.w.`s insist on the name ?
jehovah ?

I've always pondered with the idea that this whole move to abbreviate their name into JW is a move to later change it to Jesus' Witnesses and bridge the old to the new. 30 years from now witnesses will be taught that the JWs of the 20th century were wrong about worshipping Jehovah exclusively.
JWs insist on the importance of the name because is one of the many weak arguments they have to "show" they have Jehovahs' blessing. Nevermind that the bible states that miracles would be the way to bear witness to converts.
jwfacts is right. For being called "witnesses" the surely distorted the importance of "bearing witness" as being the most important part of spreading belief. Jehovah does no longer needs witnesses, as I understand, as he has sent forth his son as the eternal covenant. Such covenant needs to be witnessed not just with words, but works as well. I am thru with man made religions until the day someone cures a sick person in front of my very eyes. In other words, I am thru forever because I don't really thinks it will ever happen.
