by PaintedToeNail incame across 2 of these 'booths' in 2 days.
one at the int'l airport we landed at (hubby asked directions from them, they were knowledgable about the airport and very nice) and the other at a pier on the beach...hubby had to race over and say hi to them and i was standing there.
the 'brother' was an arrogant boob.

A few years ago, when I learned TTATT, the bound volumes got moved into the garage. My child, (who loves old books), is attending meetings with my ex. As I find contradictory paragraphs and articles, I draw attention to the damming passages with a post-it and highlighter. *IF* my child choses to walk in the way of JW's, my gift for his decision will be all the old 'collectable' literature. :)

What ya all think about this?
*** g73 2/8 p. 4 The Wisdom of Admitting a Mistake ***
Of course, admitting we made a mistake is the right, honest and decent thing to do. But it is more than that. It is also the course of wisdom. For one thing, admitting to having made a mistake is a lesson in humility. This, on the one hand, protects us from the snare of pride, which is ever ready to entrap us. And, on the other hand, the humbling experience of admitting we made a mistake may well serve to make us more careful so that we will be less likely to make that same mistake again. Wisely we are warned: "He that is covering over his transgressions will not succeed [with God], but he that is confessing and leaving them will be shown mercy"—by God and by God’s servants. Yes, the very confessing of our errors will aid us to leave them.—Prov. 28:13.
Admitting to making a mistake is the course of wisdom in that it builds in us strength and self-respect. Failure to do so is cowardly, and serves to weaken us morally...Further, admitting a mistake is the course of wisdom because it makes for better relations with others. When we refuse to admit we have made a mistake, we outrage the judgment of others; and they will conclude that we are either too proud, or dishonest, or too stupidto recognize that we made a mistake—all of which may well cause a barrier to come between us and those around us....

by 4thgen inhave you gotten your invitation from the wt to their big 100 year blow-out to celebrate the reign of christ?

Have you gotten your invitation from the WT to their big 100 year blow-out to celebrate the Reign of Christ? It should be a very swank affair, especially with all the billions of dollars they have on hand. It should be a doozy! After all, we've waited and toiled 100 years to celebrate this magnificent event.
The only thing that concerns me on the guest list, since there are people that were around at the start of the reign, (you know those that would not die before the end came).... Golly, they maybe close to the 100 year mark...if not older! Poor things, they maybe be too advanced in years to dance the jig at the party and may have to have cake strained into liquid to aid in digestion. (Cake smoothies?)- All you Party Planners out there, do you have any suggestions we can pass along to the GB?

Does Anyone Feel the Ministerial School Helped Them?
by Band on the Run inas a born-in, i was eager to join the ministry school.
my cousins were also born-in but lived in different states.
there was keen competition to see who could do mature things, such as baptism (my mom said when i was 35) and ministry school.

Never. To force someone into a traumatic situation and them tell them publicly everything that they did wrong in that situation is abuse.

Jesus did not take the 'two witness' rule literally. He was concerned with the overall evidence.
by yadda yadda 2 inat first glance, jesus appears to strictly support the two witness rule here:.
john 8:16-18 but if i do judge, my decisions are right, because i am not alone.
i stand with the father, who sent me.

Yadda....Yes. Yes! Very interesting thought.
Additionally, if there needed to be two witnesses to prove things true, what about the Bible accounts themselves? Since Moses was the only one who spoke to God in the burning bush, did that mean it didn't happen, because no one verify the conversation? Likewise with countless other examples in the Bible. Jesus talking with Satan on the mountain. The visions of John written in Revelation. etc. etc.
