Thank you, Barbara and Romy. Most likely the gate guard was an elder or at least an MS or he wouldn't be working there. Sad, but not unexpected.

Ex-Jehovah's Witness Recovering Group 3 and This Site
by dubstepped ini don't remember seeing it ever really talked about here but the facebook group with the namesake of this post shut down at the end of march.
it was archived and they weren't clear as to when or if they would come back.
it seemed to come out of nowhere, and i know a lot of people were disappointed.

Documentary "The Dark Truth of Religion" - Does modern Christianity have ancient Egyptian roots?
by 4thgen inrecently we watched a documentary entitled: "the dark truth of religion".
from the quality of the video, it appeared to be made several decades ago.
it reminded me of a type of movie that they would show in a college class about the history of world religions.

Recently we watched a documentary entitled: "The Dark Truth of Religion". From the quality of the video, it appeared to be made several decades ago. It reminded me of a type of movie that they would show in a college class about the history of world religions. (Maybe this was one of the reasons the WT discourages a higher education- just a thought) The documentary illustrated the similarities of many of the stories in the Bible and Christianity with the stories of the early Egyptians and other secular religions throughout history. Being indoctrinated as a JW since birth, (and I'm ancient) I found it fascinating and as well as disconcerting. It had the ring of truth, but then again I am limited in my religious education.
What have you read or watched to expand your knowledge of the origins of the Bible and Christianity? I'm not seeking to debate here, just wondering what research has proved helpful to you understanding the origin of Christianity.......

Hello
by Jules Saturn inhello, i've been lurking for quite some time here on this forum, reading a whole lot and i've finally made the courage to create an account as a form of escape and in hopes to be understood and not feel "mentally diseased".
little background on me, i am a born in but i consider myself a pimo (physically in mentally out).
i feel like i've always had doubts but these doubts would sink with the meetings and the assemblies and every other little thing that drowns any doubts a witness may have.

Hello Jules, Welcome to sanity! It's amazing what information is out there. It can be hard to swallow all these new 'truths', but take your time. As you continue digging more things will come to light and even further strengthen your resolve to stay out. Welcome to the Forum!

New Kingdom Halls in Strip Malls & Real Estate Listings
by 4thgen ini met with a jw today and they showed me a picture of the new style kh build.
the building was located in a ***strip mall**** in florida.
i'm always amazed (and disgusted) at the new and inventive ways they think of expanding their real estate holdings.. along that vein...i recently discovered this: .

I'm not sure where the photo was taken. However, it appeared to be at the end of a row of commercial buildings all connected in a row (thus strip mall*). Actually, it is pretty smart from a business perspective. The old style stand alone halls are apparently hard to sell. After all, isn't it really the WT a business? Credit cards accepted.
Maybe this link will work better:

*not stripper mall.

The GB members of the Watchtower Corporation are cunning decisive crooks
by Finkelstein ini think its now easy see the long standing and continuous operation of the watchtower corporation and its commercialized corruption as a religious publishing house.
the core centralized intent was to increase the circulation and distribution of the wts's own publications.
they exploited the basic belief in the bible as holy spiritual writings and used the end is near proclamation all throughout the 20th century and even back toward the end of the 19th century.. these leaders also devised special engaging public talks at assemblies and local kingdom halls which were also devised to support those specific core doctrines of christ's return and a imposing question of who's worthy of being saved or not at the soon to come day of judgment armageddon.

Absolutely. It is an abomination in the clearest sense of the word. "Blindsided" is accurate to use in this instance. Trusting individuals are used as dupes to have people donate to a publishing house, in the hopes that they are pleasing God. What a travesty!

Apostasy endorsed in this yesterday's Watchtower Study

Don't let others make decisions for us? HUH? JW's always let the GB make decisions for them....
8. What important lesson about decision-making do we learn from Israel’s history?
8 The above-mentioned examples convey to us a clear lesson. It is up to each of us to make decisions, and the wise, right choices are based on sound Scriptural knowledge. Galatians 6:5 reminds us: “Each one will carry his own load of responsibility.” (Ftn.) We should not give someone else the responsibility to make decisions for us. Rather, we should personally learn what is right in God’s eyes and choose to do it.
9. Why can it be dangerous to let others decide for us?
9 How might we give in to the danger of letting others choose for us? Peer pressure could sway us to make a bad decision. (Prov. 1:10, 15) Still, no matter how others try to pressure us, it is our responsibility to follow our Bible-trained conscience. In many respects, if we let others make our decisions, we are essentially deciding to “follow them.” It is still a choice, but a potentially disastrous one.

Interesting. What does the rest of the article indicate?
