We definitely talked about what houses we were going to have in the new system.
Until a local needs talk questioned how Christian that was.
sometimes it's hard to know if our own experience of jws was typical and what features were peculiar to our own area or the individual jws we knew personally.
i was wondering if others experienced this among jws:.
a few times on the ministry, when we were working wealthy areas with large houses, some brothers and sisters would make the comment that they look forward to taking ownership of one of these big houses after armageddon, when the worldly people have vacated them.
We definitely talked about what houses we were going to have in the new system.
Until a local needs talk questioned how Christian that was.

I liked the Christmas one.
Healing through humour definitely helped me: look up Richard Herring for thoughtful musings on religion and god.
All the more helpful as he is respectful rather than attacking, yet demolishes religious belief.
id like to start off by saying that if you look at history, every big businesses, organization etc... eventually peaks.
people think microsoft is peaking due to competition.
people are saying religion in general has peaked.
Never underestimate religions ability to reinvent itself. Especially your flexible friend - Jehovah's Witnesses.
Where everything ever taught can be brushed under the carpet as new light, where mistakes are imperfection, and you shouldn't really feel bad if someone offends you because the mark of the true religion was love, not perfection.
God it's genius.
I believed that I might survive Armageddon and live on earth.
That "Probably" was a bummer.
he also talks trash about higher education .... (for those who know some spanish, view this youtube video...).

what an idiot.. .
Remember, it's not materialism if you can afford it! Only if you try to work towards affording it.
isn't going to be wonderful??.
not being there..
That was freaky.
More like a rally - which evidently, is the point.
isn't going to be wonderful??.

My Facebook has various platitudes from the Glasgow Convention.
A picture of the venue "The Hydro" with comments like "Spiritual Paradise".
Comments about how wonderful the Mexican wave was (I mean, really?). That 'black brother' has a great sense of humour etc. etc.
Hearing from the governing body - what a privilege! He is so normal! Just like us!
To me, it's like a constant need for validation of their life. It is heart breaking. There is another life out there.
never was a jw, but been here long enough to have made some friends and respect opinions.. retired in 2004, lived in cyprus 2005-2010. back here in wales since then.. just back from a holiday in france (most recent of many).
love the country, the lifestyle, can get by in the language.. just seen an advert for a country estate (british-owned) they want someone to live on site, do a bit of handyman stuff, etc., look after (mainly brit) holiday visitors in return for zero rent (only utitlties).
family would be abe to come and stay for free.
Go for it!
